TM1Web Integrated Login 10.2.2 FP1
After successfully implementing on 2 clients' servers, the 3rd seems problematic. I am getting the following in the TM1Web log: 2014-12-08 15:30:40,244 [http-9510-1] ERROR () com.ibm.cognos.tm1.datasource.javaapi.TM1Connection - Exception Error: null Stack Trace: java.lang.NullPointerException at co...

Re: Using Picklist in Control Cube
I may be missing something here but assuming you are on a recent version, why would you not just right-click the }ElementAttributes cube and Create Pick List Cube.
Once done you can create rules or populate and the results are bound as picklists to the relevant attributes.

Re: TM1 9.4 Breaking Change - Rule derived Aliases
Just a quick update on this one for those on 10.2.20000.50183 (not FP1) This issue has re-surface but appears to have been corrected in 10.2.2 FP1 (10.2.20100.123) I cannot find any mention of the fix in the Fix List but aftert the number of issues on 10.2.2 would encourage everyone to update to FP1...

Re: TM1 Web 10.2 Integrated Login Kerberos setup
@Lotsaram - Just to be sure of what I did, this is TM1Web only, not Application which AFAIK only supports modes 1 and 5. We have not needed to use CAM, CAM with LDAP at this stage so cannot comment. I have not needed to configure for multiple domain controllers but have got users on multiple domains...

Re: TM1 Web 10.2 Integrated Login Kerberos setup
Here is a guide I created when I configured TM1Web in my lab. Note that I used TM1 10.2.2 FP1, Tomcat etc, bog standard TM1 install for my server components. 1. References Required TM1 Service Account – Used to start TM1 services TM1 Server Name – Machine on which TM1 will be running TM1 Domain Name...

Re: TM1 Web 10.2 Integrated Login Kerberos setup
Hi kangkc, Thanks for your reply - I think what was confusing me is the expectation of the Integrated Login tick box, not that I needed to enter credentials. It seemed that the configuration in the KRB5.conf file was incorrect and thus not authenticating. Getting the correct KDC server FQDN is they ...

Re: Controller vs TM1 for Financial Consolidation
Thank you for your fast and detailed response Declan, really appreciate it.
I think the biggest concern for me as a developer and as customer would be around the compliance aspect i.e. IFRS and Audit areas.

Controller vs TM1 for Financial Consolidation
As I have no experience with Controller, I am hoping to leech some insight from some of you that do. I have a prospect that has TM1 for Budgeting and Forecasting where we are consolidating about 23 companies into roughly 4 areas - three levels of consolidation i.e. Holding Company, Subs, Subs with S...

Re: Incompatibility with Excel 2013 and TM1 10.2
This has been one of my frustration over the past months too. Per IBM at http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PI16283&myns=apar&mynp=DOCTYPEstatus&mync=E the issues appears to be fixed in 10.2.2 FP1 I have recently upgraded and tested doing the following: 1) Start Excel and ...

Re: APAR PI24861; C: Level rule overwrites N: Levels
Just applied FP1 patch to test this issue - happy to report that TM1 behaves as it used to do. I created a very simplistic example cube with Year, Month and Measures - Measures had Volume, Value, Extended to illustrate the issue. Rules are as follows: SKIPCHECK; ['Volume']=N:IF(['Value']=0,0,CONTINU...

Re: Changing element name
You could also try using SED (command line tool) You need to use notepad to create an input file for SED to process - call it rename.sed for example then enter in s/\OLDNAME/NEWNAME/g I then use a batch file to execute through the various file types: @echo off set currdir=%CD% echo %currdir% for /R ...

Re: ViewTitleElementSet on dimensions with element security
Thanks lotsaram - the reason I raised it is that it is the first time we hit on this after an upgrade from 9.4 where it behaved differently. Will keep in mind going forward - seems to be similar rationale to a SUBNM where you can specify an index of say 1 and always return the first element, just as...

64-bit Client for 10.2.2 - API declarations
For those who are migrating, please note that API declarations need to be updated to declare for 64-bit and 32-bit the below code seems to do the trick: #If Win64 Then Private Declare PtrSafe Function ... #Else Private Declare Function #End If In so far as possible we are changing templates to use A...

ViewTitleElementSet on dimensions with element security
TM1 Server 10.2.2 ViewTitleElementSet(CubeName, ViewName, DimName, Index); FYI, do not use this command as it can return incorrect results for any dimension which has element security. It takes as an argument an index to a dimension and it then uses that index to show a specific element. The problem...

BLOB_FILE_CLOSE - Translation needed

APAR PI24861; C: Level rule overwrites N: Levels
Placing a C level rule below an N level rule interferes with the N level rules below that C level rule and can lead to data loss. This is in spite of the fact that the parameter AllowSeparateNandCRules is set to T. As an example if there is an element called Volume and the following rule is set it w...
