Re: TM1 Network performance problem
It sounds like the core issue is to do with network communication protocol but there are some other things you can do to tune performance over a WAN. For starters is the port the tm1 server is using being given priority over non-critical network traffic? From a report design perspective has everythi...

Re: TI and ODBC Cleanup
I can confirm that this bug is still present in 9.1 SP3 U1, where the SQL query via ODBC fails the ODBC connection is left open, this can be a real pain during development where the source system only supports a handful of simultaneous ODBC connections. The only workarounds I have found is to either...

Re: Using 9.1
This bug has been with us for a while, its not new to 9.1. Cognos definitely knows about it, the problem is in its "reproducibility" as it seems to occur randomly. Fix for DBRW not recognizing Alias = force a dimension recompile. (no need to restart server) How to: Step 1/ Insert dummy ele...

Re: TM1 Web - Admin Dashboard
Also be aware that as of 9.1 SP3 updating of "ACTIVE" status in the }ClientProperties cube has been disabled.
You can take tm1top logs and depending on what you do with them load to analysis cubes to let you know who was logged on an when, but obviously it's not going to be real time.

Re: Moving Average
Hi David,
Rather than FY - YTD for the prior year why not define a YTG (year to go) for each month as well as YTD?

Re: Hold Cubes
Which version are you running?
Under the new locking model in 9.1 temporary }Hold_ cubes seem to be created during WRITE actions. Generally these seem to be cleaned out when the write action is finished or the user logs off.

Re: 445 Fiscal Year end
Steve, If you want to show sales in fiscal sales periods and not calendar dates then your current design is adequate ... The problem is that our company is on a 445 week month fiscal year where month 1 and 2 of the quarter have 4 weeks and the third week has 5 weeks. For example June has 5 weeks sta...

Re: TM1 crashes when saving rule
Hi Andre, The 3Gb switch buys you some breathing space but you should also have a look at why your rules are consuming so much memory. Try using TM1'sbuilt in PerfMon cubes, the relevant one will be }StatsByCube to see which cubes are using the most memory, and whether memory usage is due to data or...

Re: Strange Logging Error
I don't know if you can access from the old forum http://forums.applix.com/forum/tm.asp?m=13622 Quote from Mike Cirillo This problem occurs because during the feeding process the second time the rule was changed we are changing the cell type from STET to SIMPLE. We record the change in cell type but...

Re: Moving Average
Glad you could figure it out. You're right in that this method does require a fair amount of setup as a unique consolidation for each month is needed (or multiple consolidations for each month depending on what else you want to calculate.) It's a bit of work to set up but can be automated by TI or d...

Re: Moving Average
Have you considered doing the moving average calculation in a separate cube with a combined month-year dimension and feeding the result back to the "reporting" cube with the separate month and year dimensions? The moving average calculation could then be done using consolidations. Eg. for ...

Don't get me started on the use of the @ symbol as the delimiter in Workflow dimension names ... ![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
