Re: MDX IIF to check if Element Exists

Can't help on the MDX I'm afraid, but you could consider changing the process: when a new client is added, add the "UserAdded_clientname" consolidation to the dimension with one element underneath of "NoElementsAdded_clientname", and then when they add one or more elements (I'm a...

Re: system process to create dimension period

You could also give https://code.cubewise.com/software/products/arc/ a try, which has a Time Management module (I think there's still a three month free trial period).

I expect Marius will be along, but this is probably better raised in the TM1py issues git page https://github.com/cubewise-code/tm1py/issues

Re: Filter on multiple values using virtual hierarchies

You can do this. See below for results from creating a hierarchy from a string attribute and applying filters. I think this is what you're trying to do? I've added an attribute for each sales rep and then an All attribute which puts them together (I've just done this manually for this, but it could ...

Re: Migrate Application folder structure to PAW or Excel?

What ascheevel said, particularly on Python and TM1py - Python can act as an excellent controller and ETL to TM1, and depending on use case you can package it up as an executable using pyinstaller so the machine running it doesn't even have to have Python installed.

Re: Which platform do you use to write TI and Rules ?

Rules: Arc.
TI: Arc and Python with TM1py.
Data: Mixture of PaFE, PAW and Slice (mostly Slice: how hard is it for IBM to understand that I mostly just want cell-based hierarchy-aware DBRW formulas?)

Re: IBM Planning Analytics 2.0 vs 2.1

It’s about support - IBM will stop supporting 2.0 from May 1 2025. You can still use 2.0 from then, but IBM will ask you to upgrade if you have any support issues. So effectively any issues with Perspectives or Architect won’t be dealt with. You may be able to buy extended support, but the direction...

Same trial as I'm only 14 days in, but I was attempting to point to the trial notes and limitations page here

Re: Advice on training in Planning Analytics between jobs

Hi John, Yes, I agree it's a pain. Having said that, the trial won't cost you money - it just lets you know after 30 days that your time is up and would you like to throw some money at IBM? No credit card details are asked for. If you're still a bit hesitant, I have 16 days of a trial still to go an...

Re: Bedrock And Github vs Other Options

I'm with lotsaram and Ian here. Should there be a bedrock or something like it? Yes, and use it or not as you like. It's presence on a model would at the least be a marker that the developer had thought through his or her options. Is it a pain that Cubewise is advertised in the code? Well, maybe yes...

Re: Hold, Release Hold via Rest API or TI Process?

Yes, see https://www.tm1forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=14399 , where Wim describes how for a TI. It should be possible to do the same using the REST API as it's basically creating a control cube if it doesn't exist and then applying strings to one or more cells. It may be just me, but the Commercial and Events link on the main page doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Re: Remote desktop to IBM cloud with credentials

Yanking this one up from the grave: if you use an RDP manager like mRemoteNG then you can store the password as well as the username. Trick is to put the cloud url in the gateway parameter as well as the Hostname/IP parameter.

Re: PAX RefreshAllData()

Although if you read the whole link, this shouldn't be necessary. I'd be more concerned with getting the install right rather than amending the VBA code to partially fix something that's broken (and might fix itself in future, then giving you an issue with the VBA code that now no longer works).

Re: PAX Addin not displaying correctly

Yes. I had the same issue and this is what IBM Support told me: Just talked to development, they said that the ribbon name issue is a known issue by them and they're trying to fix it ASAP. It's caused by a missing language folder that doesn't get extracted properly during the install. You can either...
