Re: Break function

Thanks for the confirmation, these were exactly my thoughts too.
I think I will continue using Break and make sure there's only 1 of it, if there are 2 then yes, a numeric value will do.
I just find Break so much better than escaping loops with numeric values like -1 or 0 or 999 or some such.

Break function

Hi all, I know that the Break function is not supported in TI. But in the past it never bite me, until today. Looking at this code: c = 1; While( c > 0 ); If( 'X' @= 'Y' ); Break; EndIf; c = c + 1; If( c > 3 ); Break; EndIf; End; The process will run forever and bring the TM1 server to the ground. W...

Re: Does the dimension already exist ?

Hello Ty,

While not definitive proof, I am almost certain Caption is an Alias here. I found back this part in a TI process of some time back:

Hi Wim,

It's version-related - from 11.0.56 I don't think it will give you the confirmation messages.
Thanks Paul. I have PAFE version 61 on my own laptop and it still gives the confirmation msgbox'es.

Please do not post the same question in more than one topic. It’s even not your topic and it’s a very old one.

Re: HELP: ASCIIOUTPUT issues

The filename could be dynamic and contain the cost center:
asciioutput ( 'c:\data_' | vCC | '.txt', ... );

Re: ASCIIOUTPUT does not create output file

If you have a process without any code, what are the settings of the view that you use in the Data source ? Are certain cells skipped from the view ? When removing any consolidated cells / zeroes / rules-calculated cells, do you have at least 1 cell remaining ? Do you have the variables marked as Ot...

Re: ASCIIOUTPUT does not create output file

The problem will be the data source, unless you see that other code in the Data (or Metadata) tab gets executed. You do need to make sure at runtime the correct view is used, including settings for skipping consolidated cells/zeroes/rules-calculated cells. 95 out of 100 there is your problem.

Re: Register process via RestAPI

Hi,

I haven't experimented with it (yet) but would be PAFE API be an alternative ? In the end it's VBA so not terribly difficult (I assume :-) )

There's code here: https://ibm.github.io/paxapi/#rest-api

Re: Does the dimension already exist ?

If a TM1 model needs to be made multi-language, it can be done with a Caption: 05.png Cubes, dimensions, elements, views, subsets, processes, chores, ... can be made multi-language. Too bad this does not work ! DimensionElementPrincipalName( '}Clients', 'Measure' ) It gives back 'Measure' instead of...

Re: Does the dimension already exist ?

You know that you haven't actually said "what the reason is" there? :? Well, I had to search for it couple of minutes, to understand what was going on. But yes, I found the / one of the reasons You also pointed out other plausible reasons. I wanted to see what others would think and to stress that ...

Re: Does the dimension already exist ?

Hi Alan, I can reproduce it with restarting the model, the entire laptop, ... In fact, I know what is the reason but I thought: hmmm, maybe my Dimix() test isn't so fool-proof. What we observe is valid and correctly working functionality that can be used in a TM1 model, which leads to the actual beh...

TM1 formulas to values in VBA with PAFE API

Hello all, I am quite sure I posted about this topic some time ago but I cannot find back the topic. Here is working code in VBA PAFE. Of course, the usefulness is somewhat less compared to zapping TM1 formulas in Perspectives since the PAFE ribbon has buttons to click on. But there are still advant...

Remote desktop to IBM cloud with credentials

Hello, I have a number of customers that are using IBM cloud for PAW/PAFE/TM1/... Clients like Architect and Perspectives need to be accessed using a remote desktop to the remote environment. IBM sends these files (for Windows, Linux,...) with predefined settings into it, like where to connect to, e...
