Re: cell security with TM1User()

The cause was a stupid mistake in a rules definition...
Everything seems to works fine now.

Re: Security - default view

Hello qml, are there limits to your technique to have different values for different users in the same cell? We used it, too, for our cell security, but in TM1 10.2.2 it seems to cause Problems that I described in this thread: http://www.tm1forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11943&p=57215#p57215 ...

cell security with TM1User()

Hello Forum, in the past (10.2.0) we used cell security where the cell security values were calculated with TM1User(). At runtime this means that a cell of the cell security cube would contain a WRITE for certain users and the same cell for other users would contain nothing. This worked very well wi...

Re: Cell type is real

Yes, it was pseudo code - regarding the Dimension Names. But the Dimension and the variable containing the dimension elements have the same name and that is what I wanted to be reflected. Who knows if this could not have been a Problem, too... I do TM1 Support for Consulting customers and inhouse fo...

Re: Cell type is real

I actually meant ""Why do I get THIS error, though I "made sure" that I cannot get it"". If I do not trust why should I not also consider that an error message could be misleading. I have seen this in my life. I should have mentioned that I checked the Cube order before...

Re: Cell type is real

I have checked the threads referring to the error "cell type is real". My Problem is that I have a check for the cell type and still get the error. I copy data within a cube - string and numeric values. A cube view is used as source. Consolidated, calculated and zero value cells are exclud...

Re: Exponential Problem with Natural Consolidation

IBM states that this would be fixed in TM1 10.2 but it is not entirely if even or IBM means a Version above 10.2.0. Create a formula as follows: ['a'] = N: ['b']; where values for 'a' are entered directly and afterwards there is plain consolidation. Then put 'a' and 'b' into a consolidation 'c' wher...

We do have this Problem in 10.2.0 FP1 already - when we use conditional Feeders "too much".

Re: MDX subset sort by Alias

I sorted a Dimension by an alias. a) {TM1SORT( {TM1SUBSETALL( [DimName].[Alias] )}, ASC)} b) {ORDER( {TM1SUBSETALL( [DimName] )}, [DimName].[Alias], ASC)} Result: Both mdx-Statements sort the dimension. Both mdx-Statements sort differently. Does somebody know the differences between TM1SORT and ORDE...

Re: Equivalent of TM1User() function in Rules

IBM supports the function TM1User() in Rules - means you can open tickets.
The rule function is just not documented.

The Syntax is "TM1User" or TM1User().
TM1User can be very helpful in (cell) security cube rules.

Since the Interim Fix 4 for TM1 10.2.0 Fix Pack 1 aka TM1 10.2.0.1.4 the TM1 Web configuration parameters "RecalcOnActivate" und "UseBookRecalcSetting" are supported.

Check it out.

Re: Problem with umlauts in calculations

TM1 10.2.0 FP1 and TM1 10.2.0 FP2 are case sensitive with Umlauts like ä, ü, ö or á, ò in object names. Just try entering element names in the Dimension Editor. With "normal" letters you will not succeed. When using DBRW() and entering the element names with the wrong case of the Umlaut, y...

Re: Change Element Order Using Element Editor Window

I have the same problem in TM1 10.2. I would like to change the order of the dimension elements of a dimension with about 1000 elements, as I accidentially ordered it in a TI-Process. My goal is that all children of all consolidated elements have a certain order, that our Controllin wants to have. T...

Re: Dimension Order

Hello lotsaram and declanr, thank you for your answers. **************** lotsaram rote: If you don't have data then by definition an empty cube is 100% sparse. The data in the cube determines the density (or inversely sparsity), ergo without data you cannot optimize properly as all you could do is s...

Re: Dimension Order

Sorry, again something came to my mind afterwards.

How about optimizing dimension order in system cubes?
According to the proposition of "system" our large element attribute cubes could save 40-80% of memory...
Is there a risk/gain optimizing there dimensions order?

Thanks

Re: Dimension Order

I forgot to add something: I know that parts of the cube are sparse and some are not - eg. the past years are dense and the actual years are not. The usage of cube cells could have a correlation to that density/sparsity - eg. the actual year is used for input and showing actual figures, the past yea...
