Re: Incompatibility with Excel 2013 and TM1 10.2
We have been able to reproduce this bug in the following way. Excel 2010, TM1 10.2. 1. Open perspectives and log into TM1 2. Open a cube view 3. Export the view to Excel 4. Export the view Excel again (to prove that it is not a matter of how many times you export the view) 5. Close the blank workboo...

Re: Incompatibility with Excel 2013 and TM1 10.2
We started to move some of our users from 9.4 to 10.2. The new users are on Windows 7 PC with Excel 2013. One user reported that he cannot do another slice in 10.2 after he has done one. He gets an error message staying that "An Excel dialog box is open. Please close it first". We are exp...

Play Beep when process completes
[Admins - probably belongs in "potentially, maybe, sort of" useful code forum] I've been developing with a lot of long running TIs and trying to multitask in between, so in order to alert me when a process has finished with a sound, I put this in the Epilog. #==============================...

Re: TM1 Admin Server Stopped
Do you have any errors messages, log file outputs, or further information of any kind? That would be helpful.
You might start with checking the application error messages in Event Viewer when you try and start the Admin Server.

Re: Issue using SUBNM in Excel
Hi Guillaume, 1. Is the name of your dimension "CUBE"? If not, this should be a Dimension name. 2. There are semicolons in your formula. Unless this is an internationalisation thing, shouldn't they be commas? 3. If you manually type in the name of the element in the parameter, does the for...

Re: How to Use DBSW
Walt,
I've loaded a value using a DBSW that relies on a DBRW formula on a separate sheet. It requires that the sheets are not refreshed together.
- Shift + F9 the DBRW sheet, THEN,
- Shift + F9 the DBSW sheet.
So I'm curious as to why this doesn't work for you?

Re: In a global context, how does TM1 compare to...
TM1 is certainly mature enough to be considered for international deployment, and in fact is currently in use as the budgeting, planning, and reporting tool at one of the world's largest banks (300K+ employees), as well as in place at international pharmaceutical and investment banking firms. With I...

Re: How to Use DBSW
If I'm not missing something, can you not;
- put the DBRWs and DBSWs on separate tabs,
- replace the DBRW references in the DBSW formula with Excel references to the DBRWs on the separate tab,
- refresh the DBRW tab,
- and then refresh the DBSW tab to load the data?

Re: Server Explorer Shortcut
As a followup to these posts, there is a way to obtain a much shorter shortcut to the Server Explorer. In recent versions of Excel (I'm using 2010 but I think this would work in 2003 as well) you can add buttons to the Quick Access toolbar (right-click > Add to Quick Access Toolbar). Once they've be...

Re: TM1 cube published in Cognos. Delay in updating?
This is something I've seen some problems with, and I don't have all the answers on how it is working. I believe officially the position is that any change to the cube structure (attributes included) requires a package republish. Here is a hierarchy of other steps that I follow if I need to see the ...

Re: No Values in Cube after Successfull TI Process
Secondly, I scheduled all four processes in different time periods so when one process finishes loading data then after few minutes other process starts loading. I'm glad this is working for you now, but I think you should refer back to what others had written and finish the job - relying on simply...

Re: FAP questions and observations
Hi vladkon, If you are in Architect/Perspectives, select View > Display Control Objects. This will reveal a large number of objects, including cubes, dimensions, and processes, that are prefixed with '}' - this indicates that they are system objects Once they are exposed you can view them as you wou...

A couple of questions;
- why are you restarting the service nightly?
- why are you relying on indexes?
- before the service restarts do you run a SaveDataAll?

Re: Exposing TM1 cube views and subsets in Cognos Report Stu
Hi, As I understand the tools, currently views and subsets are not available in Cognos Report Studio. A common approach is to build a specific TM1 cube for reporting from Cognos - structure your dimensions with the consolidations and subsets that are required specifically for <i>reporting</i>.
