Re: Numeric or String??
thanks all. If the Code value is NOT between 48 and 57 (the values for the characters 0 through to 9), 45 (a minus sign), 46 (a decimal point) or (possibly) 44 (a comma), then set the flag to 'F' and increment the counter to the Long value +1 to exit the loop. (This ensures that you loop through the...

Re: Numeric or String??
Hi Alan, The data source is a SQL DB. The column was set as a string value in the databse, I also defined the variable field as a String variable. For example(Source data): Product Name (prodnm) 012 ABC What I want the TI process to do is IF(prodnm is a numeric); do ABC ELSE(Prodnm is a string); do ...

Numeric or String??
hi all,
is there a way to identify if a variable is a numeric or a string in a TI process?
I will be using it in a if statement, if the variable is a numeric value then do ABC, if the variable is a string value then do DEF.
Cheers,
Byron

Re: Users not getting the same data.
have a try to use "NUMBR" in your TI process to get rid of the leading Zero. NUMBR converts a string to a number. The string passed to the NUMBR function must use . (period) as the decimal separator and , (comma) as the thousand separator. Any other decimal/thousand separators will cause i...

I strongly support your idea....."Perhaps Martin should ask them for a contribution from their support revenue towards running this place that saves them so much work? "

Re: Perspectives for MS Excel Crashing
Hi guys,
I tried Cognos proposed solution and it didn't work.
All I need to do is to resize the subset editor once and click "cancel", the problem goes away.
thanks a lot Steve Vincent, you are the legend. How did you figure that out?
Cheers,
Byron

Re: Perspectives for MS Excel Crashing
It is happening on all subset editors in TM1 Server explorer. I've also discovered one thing, if I select multiple elements and click "OK', Excel doesn't crash. But if I select one of elements and click "OK", it crashes the whole Excel. It seems the issue is not happening on the TM1 s...

Hi Alan,
the TM1 folder you mentioned was found on our file server under the user profile. Anyway, I deleted and regenerated the file, but it seems the Excel crashing problem's re-appearing.
Cheers,
Byron
