Re: VIEWCONSTRUCT
Thank you guys for the explanation! The leaf data is already in RAM. Why would it need to be cached? Yes. The whole purpose of the cache is so that consolidated values can be retrieved from RAM instead of recalculated each time a user asks for them. The caveat here is that cache uses RAM resources s...

Re: VIEWCONSTRUCT
Hi Gregor and Lotsaram, Thank you for the clarification. I did look into the VMM and VMT also, which I am doing some more testing later. Back to the ViewConstruct , But what Gregor said is correct, when TM1 calculates consolidations it does so in one jump straight from the leaf level to the node bei...

VIEWCONSTRUCT
Hi, Does it make sense to think that, after nightly massive data load, if I run a TI with VIEWCONSTRUCT at the Top of all dimensions, eg. All Dept, All Accounts, All Times, All Measures, this VIEWCONSTRUCT may take 1 hour. Assuming there is no data change during the day, does it mean that ALL data a...

Re: DBRA formula returning KEY_ERR
Hi Gregor,
"Can I just suggest to try and do these kind of look ups on the server side so you don't have to use DBRs. ", can you elaborate how to do this? Thanks!

TM1 Not Good for Manufacturing?
Hi, I am having some problems with TM1 Feeders between cubes, see http://forums.olapforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3241 Gregory mentioned about the resource requirement for feeder statement in the source cube, in my case Company (3 elements), Scenario (7 ele), Year (7 years), Period (12 ele), Sa...

Re: Source Cube Feeder Memory Issue
I was trying to feed a constant value to a measure element such that the row will not be zero suppressed during Active Form, as explained above. Is this a wrong way to go about forcing a row to show up in a zero suppressed Active Form? Tks.

Re: Source Cube Feeder Memory Issue
Hi, I got the idea from http://forums.olapforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2850 I need to use Active Form with dynamic rows on products and zero suppression as an Input Template. There are total of 10 scenarios, only 4 of the scenarios should show up in the Input Template. So the idea is to popula...

Re: Feeder Issue - Unfed, Multi Cubes - PLZ Help!
Hi gurus, I now realize that I was using the wrong Attributes, and now I have to create a new attribute to hold the Parent Account, can someone give me some suggestion of how to quickly do that, either thru rule or TI? Like what function to use such that as I traverse to the lowest element, I can ba...

Re: Feeder Issue - Unfed, Multi Cubes - PLZ Help!
Hi Alan, Actually the Part dimension has one rollup like this DIM PART: GL Part Groups -> level 1 Parts by GL -> level 2 Account xxx -> level 3 PartA PartB So the GL Rule Account is able to connect with the Parts, with !Account, as a result, the GL Rule worked, all base N level are ruled with the co...

Re: Feeder Issue - Unfed, Multi Cubes - PLZ Help!
Hi David, As you suggested, I did not touch the 'GL cube rule' statements, just changed the 'Forecast Cube feeder' to be what you suggested, that is, adding the 'All UOM','All Salespeople','Total All Customers' on the left side, and did not change the right side. ['Forecast - Business Inputs','Volum...

Feeder Issue - Unfed, Multi Cubes - PLZ Help!
Hi dear gurus, I was trying to update GL cube measure 'Transaction' with Forecast cube measure 'Volume'. All the numbers arrive at the GL cube perfect at the N: level, there are 13 rows (Accounts) with numbers. Unfortunately, when I suppress zero, only first 2 rows (Account A and B) are left. When I...
