Re: Months and TimePeriod
Yeah fair enough. I tend to use and encourage data copy processes for that kind of thing, but it is nice to have the data spreading option in many cases.

Re: HELP! SSO broken by disabling AD user account?
The Applcation Pool was ok, but burnstripe's suggestion about the CA Binding Identity did the trick. Thanks so much to you both!

Re: Problem with CreateHierarchyByAttribute
Unless I misread your question, the result you got is the one expected. If you have a look at the documentation for CreateHierarchyByAttribute , you'll see it's very limited in what it can do. It can create a 3-level hierarchy, with level 0 being your leaf elements, level 1 being the value of the at...

HELP! SSO broken by disabling AD user account?
Hi all, I inherited a PA / PAW server that was installed with SSO before I arrived. It's a Windows Server 2016 machine with IIS 10 and PA 57 installed. For reasons I won't go into, the server was setup using my colleague's AD account, rather than a dedicated service account. The account ended up bei...

Re: Prior Year and Next Year in Rules: What is Faster?
Using the string to numeric conversion method is bad practice for other reasons also. For one, you're linking your naming convention to your rule. What if one day you want to expand your year dimension? What if your users insist on distinguishing between FY2020 and CY2020 ? Yes you can work around t...

Re: TM1Tools is there one for PAX
Now I'm not saying the Waterfall approach to software development isn't without its own intrinsic flaws, but it sure beats the hell out of throwing half finished crap at customers just so it can be said that "look at us, we're Agile now". I recently had some training on Agile Project Mana...

Re: TM1Tools is there one for PAX
Oh, and STILL they haven't provided hierarchy aware DBRW formulas. They might, maybe get around to it by the end of the year. That tells you a lot. Don't get me started :) After becoming an early adopter of virtual hierarchies and discovering this omission live with the client, I asked IBM at every...

Re: TM1Tools is there one for PAX
Well said, Alan! You said a lot of things out loud that I've been thinking about Planning Analytics for a long time now. I remember hearing them talk about Docker and Kubernetes and all these technical aspects of the software and thinking "how about you just build a really good front end?"...

Re: Matching unnamed subset with named subset
Agree with Alan's post, with one exception. You used the following language: those elements under Unnamed subsets is similar to other elements under the Named subset. Similar or the same? It would be much harder to detect "similar" subsets than identical ones. One could imagine an algorith...

TM1 REST API - Getting alias value when retrieving native view
Hi all, I'm trying to retrieve and render a view using the REST API. I want to present it similarly to how it looks in Architect. Python is not an option in my dev environment -- so I must do so using native API calls via web request. I've tried using tm1.Execute, but when the Axes are returned, I d...

Re: Tm1 MDX - set element collapse using element name in dimension
But, I would like to pass the element to drill down the particular element in dimension and save to subset or dimension itself. I don't really understand your question, but you're talking about two incompatible concepts here. There is no way to pass anything to a subset or dimension. Subsets don't ...

Re: Creating a }Picklist cube in a TI process
SaveDataAll doesn't seem to make any difference. What I have discovered is that the picklist works the first time the cube is created, but once it's established I can't delete it and re-create the picklist cube. For now I'm just going to leave it if it already exists and replace the rule file. That ...

Creating a }Picklist cube in a TI process
Hi all, I'm trying to create a picklist cube for an existing cube using a Turbo Integrator process. I'm creating a cube with the correct name (}Picklist_Cube_Name) with the same dimensionality as the original cube with the addition of the }Picklist dimension as the final dimension. I'm then attachin...

Re: Tm1 restapi in C# app
I have played around with the REST API in C#. I got my test scenarios working with authentication, but can't guarantee it'll work in every case.
If you continue to have issues, PM me and I'll send you some code examples. I probably won't have time to dig through the code until the weekend.

Re: Using Alternative Hierarchies to calc stock balances
I tried it with the good ole' DB formula and it worked. Thanks to those who gave advice, it got me thinking in the right direction. I'd say the lesson learnt is to avoid the CellValueN function for now, as it seems to behave differently from the way it is documented. For those interested in this, th...

Re: Using Alternative Hierarchies to calc stock balances
As far as I know, the DB function does not support alternative hierarchies. To check, I tried as you suggested and got a syntax error "missing right parenthesis": ['CSOH Quantity'] = N: DB('MFP Scenario Planning', !GBL Company, !MFP Scenario, !MFP Selling Season, !MFP Product Lifecycle Sta...
