Re: Issetup.exe
It would have been wise to mention that tiny 'detail' that it's Cognos Express you are talking about. It did not make much difference in this case, but you had no way of being certain of that before asking the question. Now, you already have the client software (Xcelerator) installed on the server,...

Re: Issetup.exe
It could also cenceivably be a FixPack being installed on top of an existing installation of TM1 as that doesn't show you the component choice page either. Without more details (OS, 32/64-bit, version number etc) it will be hard to help more. It was just a client install of Xcelerator. We are on Wi...

Re: Issetup.exe
Is there a way, when running issetup.exe, that you can select what component (i.e. The TM1 web component) you want to install? When we run, it skips the component selector and goes straight through installation. We are trying to implement TM1 web and this is our first hurdle. TIA! Are you sure you ...

Re: Windows 10 and Cognos
So all i would have to do is copy the bin folder onto the Surface Pro without running the installer on the SP? Yes and understanding that you do unsupported actions. After I copy the bin folder over, where do I specify the server? Am I missing a step? I copied over and tried to add the add-in in Ex...

Re: Windows 10 and Cognos
Not sure if windows 10 is actually the issue. When express 10.2 first came out I was asked to install it for a customer who had excel 2013; which at the time was unsupported - the fancy installer would stop it from being installed. However you could get it working by installing it on a pc with exce...

Windows 10 and Cognos
One of our users received a new Surface Pro with Windows 10 installed. We are currently running Cognos 10.2.1.1 which includes Xcelerator. Once he tries to load Xcelerator he is getting this error message: "INS-ERR-0075 The following prerequisites are missing. Please cancel this installation an...

Not sure if anyone here uses Cognos Workspace but if you do, are there any templates to download as far as layouts go?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Runtime Error in Excel 2010
Jim,
We are going with the tm1p.xla....that is the issue. When it is enabled, the error occurs when opening a spreadsheet that was an attachment within Outlook.

Runtime Error in Excel 2010
We have a user who enables the TM1P.xla add-in for Excel 2010. The issue we are running into is that when this user opens an Excel spreadsheet that was an attachment in Outlook, they receive a VB Runtime error of "Method 'Onkey' of object'_Application' failed" once the spreadsheet comes up...

Cognos Express 10.2.1.1 (Multi-threaded?)
I have a general question regarding CE. IS CE a multi-threaded aware application? Meaning, will it take advantage of multi-core processors on a server? If so, can you provide the documentation that supports your answer? Need this info to aid in our configuration of a virtual machine. Thanks in advan...

Re: Single Sign-on
Have you set up security in TM1? e.g. imported the cognos groups that those users belong to and given those groups read/write access to whatever they should have. Yes, prior to enabling Single Sign-on, we imported groups with users and gave those users read/write access in the CEM enviroment. Curre...

Single Sign-on
My co worker and i are running in to an issue. We currently have users defined in CEM. Well we want to utilize Single sign-on for security reasons. The issue we are running into is that once we enabled single sign-on and a user selects the namespace, the user's permissions are non existent once they...

Re: Unable to Write to Cubes
Tom, Sorry about the title. As for our issue, we are providing the ID and password to the source (Oracle 11g) within TI. We are able to verify the connection through the Preview on TI as well. Still though, no data is writing to the cube when the process is ran. Are there other avenues you suggest?

My co worker and I are running into an issue. We are currently transitioning from TM1 Enterprise 9.1.4 to Cognos Express 10.2.1. We have configured all ODBC connections and have run into an issue. We both have Admin rights to do everything within TM1/CE, but when we run a chore the Zero Out function...

Re: ICAS in an Unhealthy State
Hi there, Did you try restarting (Restart All) Manager and looking at the manager log? (VIew Logs). There could be a corrupted TM1 transaction file. Try deleting "tm1s.log" in logs\express folder. Restart cxmd service and manager. I have had several issues installing Planner and Advisor a...

My co worker and i are administrators for Cognos Express. We currently are using Cognos Express 10.2. We have recently run into an issue, and cannot make any progress as to what may be the issue. Here is our issue and logistics: Issue: When logging into Cognos Express Manager today, we get the messa...
