Re: Consolidation sum to exclude one element
You can create the total as a sum of 2 elements, the consolidation of 9 and the 10th leaf level element. Very easy. Thanks Wim. I do not want to specify the elements explicitly in the rule since there are chances of additional elements being added in the future. So how much ever elements gets added...

Re: Consolidation sum to exclude one element
Please note, there are no other consolidations in the dimension that I could ConsolidateChildren (). Hence clueless how to go about resolving this issue. Appreciate your help.

Consolidation sum to exclude one element
Hi all, A dimension in the cube shows sum of all its elements at the consolidation level. I am required to sum at the consolidation level for all the elements except 1. Eg. if the dimension has 10 elements and value against each of the element is 1, the sum at consolidation is showing 10. However, I...

Thank you Qml. But I still am trying to figure out what options do I have in terms of Rules editor since advanced rules editor is no more available in Architect

Re: Need Suggestion - TM1 Performance Modeler or Planning Analytics
Thanks Declan and Steve for your inputs. Declan, as per the IBM technote, advanced rules editor is no longer supported from version 10.1. This causes difficulties especially if the project involves rules to be written. Hence I'm wondering if Architect would be the right choice. Steve, the projects I...

Need Suggestion - TM1 Performance Modeler or Planning Analytics
Hi all, I am currently in TM1 10.2.2 environment. I wanted help in identifying which one of the options would be better for modeling - 1) Using TM1 Performance Modeler (available in the current version instead of TM1 Architect since Architect is no longer supported) OR 2) Upgrading the environment t...

Re: Bringing numeric cell value as it is from the database
Thanks Tom, Mark and Guillaume for your reply. The reason I need to know if TM1 can dynamically fetch the numeric data as it is from the DB because at one point the format for a value changed in the backend and I did not know about it. Initially it was 5 decimal places and in the str () I coded the ...

Bringing numeric cell value as it is from the database
This is regarding bringing a numeric cell value exactly as it appears in the data source (with the decimal precision). The measure element 'SALES_TAX_AMT' is numeric and has a format with 3 decimals in the ODBC data source. Eg. '35.832'. Since I need to output this value in to a text file, I convert...

Re: Bring data from one cube to another when they have different dimension structure
Thanks Edward and QML. A challenge arises if there is more than one element of Dimension5 that has data for any given combination of other dimension elements. Yes, there are different combinations of data for each of the elements of Dimension5. If you cannot define Dimension 5 then you cannot pull i...

Re: Bring data from one cube to another when they have different dimension structure
ViRa, I have 2 questions: 1. So a vendor can choose more than one Model, Risk type for each account? 2. What exactly are you doing in Cube A before ASCIIOUTPUT. Are there some rules which cannot be applied directly on Cube B? Apologies for the delay in response. I cannot access the forum at work. 1...

Re: Bring data from one cube to another when they have different dimension structure
Nothing you have posted makes any sense to me. In your original post you say that Model and Risk Type are dimensions in both cubes and now you are saying that they are measures in Cube B???? I don't know about the others here but I have no clue what your goal is except to do an ASCIIOutput of somet...

Re: Bring data from one cube to another when they have different dimension structure
Thank you Tom for explaining me with the illustration. In my case it is all string data (i.e. apples and oranges) in Cube B. The requirement is to do a CellGetS from Cube B for the measure elements (such as Model, Risk Type, and some other elements like Logic, MaskingType etc) in to Cube A and do an...

Re: Bring data from one cube to another when they have different dimension structure
Agree with Edd - but you will need to make sure your data source has 'Skip Consolidated' unchecked - since 'All Vendors' will be consolidated. You will then get the parents in all the other dimensions and will need to handle that. If the volume is not too high the simplest approach is to check that...

Re: Bring data from one cube to another when they have different dimension structure
Thanks Tom and Wim for reply. I'm using TI. I do not have rules in the cube so far and thought if I can accomplish this requirement through TI that will help me with cube performance. Im aware that in rules I use the 'All Vendors' in order to bring in data from a different cube. I'd really appreciat...

Bring data from one cube to another when they have different dimension structure
Hi all, I need guidance in bringing in data from Cube B to Cube A when they do not have similar dimension structure. I did go through the forum topics before posting this question but could not find a solution that worked for me. Both the cubes have some dimensions in common and a single dimension w...

Re: CellGetS from Cube B and AsciiOutput it in Cube A is not working
Hi all, I was able to get the desired results. Still, CellGetS from Cube B is not being output (using ASCIIOUTPUT) in Cube A. But, when I use that value fetched by CellGetS for further processing in the IF conditions, it is giving me the desired output from Cube A (which is the detailed cube). Thank...

Re: CellGetS from Cube B and AsciiOutput it in Cube A is not working
Yes, AsciiOutput goes to a text file, while CellPutS writes to a cube and CellGetS reads from a cube. Good luck in solving the TI problem using AsciiOutput to text files. It's what TM1 developers have to do every day (because there are no alternatives). Thanks Wim. I'll try my best. Well, are you u...

Re: CellGetS from Cube B and AsciiOutput it in Cube A is not working
Vira, From reading this, I'm still wondering whether you know the difference between AsciiOutput and CellPutS. Do you? Hi Wim, my understanding is that Asciioutput is used to output the cube cells fetched by the parameter passed in the function to a txt or csv file. CellPutS is used to load the val...

Re: CellGetS from Cube B and AsciiOutput it in Cube A is not working
Thanks all for your time to look into my issue and provide suggestions. Indeed, use AsciiOutput and limit the source (view) to be able to understand what is going on. Line by line, variable by variable until you find your flat - either in the logic, data, ... The cube structure is allowed to be diff...
