Re: Commit Sandbox Numbers Generated by TI
Thanks guys. The solution to avoid users unwittingly overwriting values that have been TI generated is to have a "Display" measure that is ruled to the value loaded. I think that's what you were suggesting Wim. That doesn't sort users who have direct access to the cube (not through TM1 App...

Commit Sandbox Numbers Generated by TI
Hi there, I have a TM1 Application where a user cannot commit their numbers because their overall sandbox contains numbers generated by TI (with more rights than them). The only "solution" I have is to grant them write access to the underlying cubes which contain TI generated numbers, howe...

Re: Help with IntegratedSecurityMode 2/3
Hi olapuser, that sadly does nothing. I will have to review this one if we get as far as TM1Web. The initial login should not be using constrained delegation or any delegation for that matter. Does anybody know how TM1 gets registered with the domain controller in the first place? I am not sure the ...

Re: Help with IntegratedSecurityMode 2/3
Sadly that has failed to work too. From your post Tomok, is the client name is as important as the uniqueID field? I thought only the uniqueID was used to authenticate, but am likely wrong here. I have changed the client name a few times and am using the name as provided by WHOAMI in cmd. I know it ...

Re: Help with IntegratedSecurityMode 2/3
Hi Tomok, The .x is just a sample. In this case users are .com and all lower case. Sadly that doesn't work so I gave a couple more options a go. Am I right in thinking it is only the uniqueID field that has any bearing on authentication here? Do unsuccessful logins from unknown clients ever show in ...

Re: Help with IntegratedSecurityMode 2/3
Thanks Paul, sadly that's a non starter. username@domain.x,Username@domain.x, username@Domain.x, UserName@Domain.x etc. have all failed along with any other form of a username under the sun. NTLM isn't an option here.

Help with IntegratedSecurityMode 2/3
Hi everyone, This might seem like groundhog day or a throwback to 2013, but I have a client who does not want the Cognos Analytics overhead just for user authentication and they don't want to have to manage users in TM1 directly...so we're at IntegratedSecurityMode 3 (currently two while I sort this...

Re: IBM PA 2.0.6
Hi, The defaults for Cognos Configuration are the same as far as I am aware (9510 for applications, 5495 admin host, 5498 SSL admin host, etc, etc). Your individual TM1 instances will have their own configurations and those won't change just because you move from 10.2 to 2.0.6. You may need to add a...

Re: IBM PA 2.0.6
Hi there, 1) The short answer is licensing. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_rdm.2.0.0.doc/c_rel_notes_planning_analytics_2_0_6.html#concept_ox1_cd3_cdb If you talk to an IBM Partner, you might be able to find out the nuances of the licensing model. ...

Re: TM1 Certifications
Now during an iterative agile development process using containers might be a good thing. But not for a final product. But since the TM1 people forked away from the Analytics people, the devs had to stick with it for final release. And now we are stuck with something really crappy that requires you...

Re: Operations Console - 403 Error
Indeed Tomok, but when it is secured by "blank" after deleting the incorrect input, some common sanity checks would be appropriate... Group would be approrpiate, but I think you're a little hard. If someone has access to the server the web server sits on, surely some basic method of overri...

Re: Operations Console - 403 Error
Yes, exactly like that. Thanks for finding the relevant tech note. So by design we have a safe that only opens when the original named bank manager is still employed by the company. Once he leaves the bank and is replaced, the safe can never be opened again. Slick. Looks like I will have to override...

Operations Console - 403 Error
Hi there, I have managed to lock myself out of the exceptionally annoying Operations Console. Attempting to get it to function with CAM, I put in a group named "Admin" into the "Groups" section of security. I deleted it right away since the syntax was incorrect for this field, ho...

Re: TM1 Native Security Question (Contributor)
Exactly how would you propose doing that? As far as I'm aware TM1 Contributor requires that the Tm1 server be using security mode 4 or 5. I believe it's security modes 1 or 5 (native or CAM/Cognos 8). Sadly no AD as far as I know. Using the IntegratedSecurityMode Parameter with TM1 Contributor You ...

Re: Contributor - Multiple Hierarchies in ApprovalHierarchy
Hi there, For the multiple hierarchies in an approval dimension, this is a known defect with TM1 9.5.2 Contributor. My company raised this as an issue with IBM and we worked around it by having separate dimensions for workflow and reporting (a maintenance overhead, but the only way we could think of...
