Re: Using Dates And Times In TM1

And.. to answer What would you want the software to do? Have a business auto detect function so it knows what week 1 would be? Our user wants to start to do forecasting in TM1 system. They are doing a weekly forecast. They will close the version weekly manually, if not, system will be closing for th...

Re: Using Dates And Times In TM1

I appreciates your inputs and yes, I totally agree with the point that financial period can starts from any month of the year. Let me explain, the reason why I'm asking about Week, is because I noticed some calendar do indicate the Week. Hence I thought Week is something standard, even when I google...

Re: Using Dates And Times In TM1

hmm .. I understand where you coming from. Different company will have different financial year, but I thought Week concept should have some standard to follow. I do come across some diary/calendar indicating the week number, hence my understanding is that Week concept could be something generic. Cu...

Re: Using Dates And Times In TM1

Hi there,

I have a question pertaining to Week. Does TM1 has the Week function ? Example, today (30th May 2013) should be week 22.

Thank you James for your comments. Feel relieved to hear CE10 is stable. Kang, thanks for the advise. Will take note of that when I test out the migration later. :)

Re: Cognos Express 9.0 Migration to 9.5

Hi, Now that CE 10 is already out, maybe I should change the subject to 9.0 to 10.1 (or 10.2) ;) . As Ms Office 2003 is coming end of support soon, I'm tasked to upgrade the Cognos Express 9.0 (to which ever newer version which can work with Ms Office 2010) I'm trying to research on the CE10. I saw ...

Re: Execute same process from different session

The AsciiOutput output is only as useful as you define. Couldn't agree with you more. What should be defined is the key. As the output file will be a lot. Hence, 1. Output into a filename which will be appended with the timestamp. (I think this is the easiest way to generate a unique filename) 2. D...

Re: Execute same process from different session

Thank you guys for the suggestions. Let me summarize your suggestions. In short, you are suggesting me to put asciioutput to know where exactly the TI process stopped or failed? Eg has it even reaches the Data tab. This is the same TI process, which all the product admins will execute when they subm...

Execute same process from different session

Hi there, I have developed a TI process which does below 1. Identify the filtering, set the subsets of the dimension, eg Year, Scenario, product group, etc 2. Zero Off the view using those subset 3. Load the value from another cube into this cube. It was working fine last month. However, this month,...

Re: Staff Cube with Movement Analysis - Feeders

just read your feeder again. I noticed, there's no feeder for Attrition. (even for biz_Staff2 cube) If my understanding on your cube is correct, if there's EOP of the previous month, there should b Attrition this month. right? If so, the feeder can be something like [BalanceType: 'EOP'] => DB('Biz_S...

Re: Staff Cube with Movement Analysis - Feeders

Did you add feeder at the Biz_Staff_Map cube ? Usually when the value is gone at Zero Suppressed, means the feeder is not fed.

Re: Staff Cube with Movement Analysis - Feeders

Hi RJ!,

You are asking why is the -1 not reflecting when you use the Zero Suppressed? have you tried to Trace Feeder & Trace calculation ? From there, you should be able to figure out what feeder you lack of, that is causing the -1 not reflecting ?

Re: Loading multiple files into a cube

Hi , THanks for suggestion. Can you tell me how can I pass in the filename as parameter, which in turn to be a data source for another TI process? Or maybe I can write a bat file, which is to be executed in a WHILE loop, which then copies the 1st dat file into a common .txt file, which this .txt fil...

Loading multiple files into a cube

Hi there, Happy New Year ! I have a situation here, and would like to seek for your opinion. I have total of 13 files, loading into the same cube. With the differences, load into different Country, different Currency. I'm thinking which way would be the better way to do this. I can either to have 13...

Re: Rule Performance Tuning

Seem I can try out what Steve suggested. Let me try out few rules, and see if the memory consumption as well as the cube loading time is smaller.
To Tomok,
There's Setting cube controls whether has the week turns actualised or not.

Re: Rule Performance Tuning

 .. just realised i missed out some closing brackets and true false value, hence causing you find it difficult to apprehend. Anyway, seem you figured out the logic behind it though :D You are proposing to use feeder like below instead ['Inventory'] => DB ('Forecast',!Year,!Scenario, ATTRS('Wee...

Re: Rule Performance Tuning

I have feeders like ['Qty'] =>['Sales']; and also feeders like ['Inventory'] => DB ('Forecast',!Year,!Scenario, IF (DIMIX('Week',!Week)<DIMIX('Week',DB('Setting','Current Week','Value') & DIMIX('Week',!Week)>DIMIX('Week',DB('Setting','Start Week','Value'), ATTRS('Week',!Week,'Next')),!Country, !...

Re: Rule Performance Tuning

Thanks Steve. If the resource will only be consumed when users requesting to view. Then, what about loading of the cube ? As my problem now is that the cube is increasing at a tremendous rate. For the biggest cube, it is taking slightly more than 1hr to load(this is reflected in tm1server.log). Henc...

Re: Rule Performance Tuning

I will not be using ['Sales','2012'] = N: Qty*UnitPrice; as this will be too static. It would be more likely to be ['Sales'] = N: If (!Year @= DB('Current','Year','Value'),Qty*UnitPrice, stet); In fact, I want to feed the Sales (no matter which year it is). As most of time, users will only be checkin...
