Exploration View Cleaning up

Post by Bergie »

Good day.

Working on a project to improve the user experience and want to move users from Excel Websheets to Exploration views in Workspace in Excel as the same view that we created in Excel gives a way better user experience with quicker refresh rate than Excel. Is there any way to hide a dimension without sending it to the bench. Below is screenshot showing selection, the bottom 3 rows, Channels, Brands and model, I want to hide from the view, but since I need to have specific selections with each version for input and reporting purposes, but in sending it to the bench doesn't work as it resets to the default element. Any advice on how I would be able to achieve it.

You can turn all of the column headers off in a PAW Exploration via the Properties, but I suspect you'd like a couple of the dim element names in the columns to still be visible. Another option would be to define custom members in the MDX which would be the tuple of each dim selection in your columns. This would give you the ability to apply custom names for the columns like you have in your excel view e.g. "LLY Sales $" which is the tuple of ([Sales $], [Actual LLY], [Total Channels], [Total Brands], [Core Model])
