Hi everyone,
I have just upgraded from excel 2003 to excel 2007 and since then I have been having a bit of unusual issues that I hope you could give me a hint on how to solve the problems.
1- I am an administrator and I have double checked the security settings in the Cognos express admin console and it's all good. However when I try to edit a chore or refresh security, I get no access whatsoever, I can't even see the options for cubes, processes, dimensions, not even by right clicking (see attached picture). Is there anything I need to change in any of the .ini or .config files..??
2- The excel 2007 objects or dialog boxes look as if they were from excel 2003 (see attached picture2)... is this normal..?? I already tried to fix this by deleting the EXD files from C:\Documents and Settings\"USER"\Application Data\Microsoft\Forms but nothing really changes.
Would be great to hear if anyone has experienced or is experiencing the same kind of issues...

Re: Xcelerator Client reinstal
I don't know express too well. But in normal TM1 environments a way around this issue is to drop the file tm1p.lic in to C:\Windows.
Struggling through the quagmire of life to reach the other side of who knows where.

Re: Xcelerator Client reinstal
As Jim mentioned, if certain menus are greyed out it''s because the client is not being recognizing as a full admin license. The answer is to make sure the license file is in a directory in the search path. The easiest answer is to copy it into the Windows directory. That being said, I've never seen anyone have a satisfactory upgrade of Excel versions without performing an uninstall and reinstall of TM1.
Re: Xcelerator Client reinstal
Thank you guys for the answers, I did move the Tm1p8.Lic file to C:\WINDOWS but nothing really changed so I have pasted it under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Applix\TM1 and it's all good now.
I would think all apps can normally read C:\WINDOWS\ but I guess there maybe some kind of conflict since I don't have an admin windows account... In any case below link FYI
