I hope I could explain this well as the scenario is really WEIRD!
We are on version 9.0 SP2 U3, using Excel add in feature to launch TM1 and login using server explorer.
I experienced an very weird start - up on a particular machine that the pop up indicate 9.0 SP2 U3 but when login via server explorer , the old version 8.0 was loaded.
I had my IT guy check/diagnose the version installed, registry, licence and everything we can, nothing indicate version 8.0 were loaded to the machine.
We then re-built the PC and reinstall all software. It worked fine for a few weeks and "one-fine" day the weird scenario come back up again.
Has anyone experienced that at all?

i hope i understood it correctly:
after some time you start instead of tm1 9.0 the old 8.0 version but you have no idea why?
is it possible that a e.g. netlogon script has not been updated and earlier "client rollouts" were made by it?
you could use 8.0 even without installing it on the local machine .. a shared bin folder and link to the tm1p.xla could also be enough (.. maybe a script copys some 8.0 dlls and so on from somewhere to the local client?)
i hope you used tm1 8.0 in the past otherwise it would be really strange

yes, you did understand my question, I am glad I did explain it clearly.
Yes, we previously used Version 8.0 and later upgraded with version 9.
The machine was rebuilt i.e. everything ( hopefully everything!) have been purged and cleared, the scenario went away but after a few weeks, version 8 get loaded again.- it's like a "die hard" bug/gremlin, it never dies!
but I will send your reply to my IT guy and see if the dll thingy make sense to him.
Till then.
