Log In Failed is usually incorrect user ID or password
If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator.

Very occassionally the link between the client computer and the server can get lost before you log on. Try hitting F5 to re-establish the connection with the server, then try logging on.

When running a local server, TM1 will try to log into that local server with a user ID: Admin and Password: (blank)

If your TM1 data that you're using in the local server came from another TM1 server where security is in place, it is likely that the Admin ID has a password. To log in, you'll just need to double-click on the "Local" server in Server Explorer and enter in a valid user ID and password (does not have to be Admin).

Mike

Thank you guys for the help. We do not have password for the log in. I try to run the server on my laptop. I still encounter the Log In Failed:SystemServerConnectionFailed message.

From what's been posted already I assume you actually see the server under the "TM1" object tree root but you can't log in?

Why don't you edit security settings, then log on as Admin?
