Reporting off TM1 Control Cubes with C8 BI

Hi.

We have a requirement that we be able to report off the {Control Cubes} in TM1. Our client would like to be able to view security settings etc. which is normally available in TM1 to Admin only. Currently, after setting up Framework Manager , we can only see the standard cubes. Does anyone know how we can achieve this.?

When you are setting up the TM1 datasource in C8 BI, are you setting the login to "admin" ?

I have created a new Datasource and attempted to connect using the TM1 'admin' account.
It gives us the same result as with our normal (admin allowed) user.
We can only see the stardard cubes.

I have no fix for you then. Perhaps one of the TM1 experts can comment on the particular conditions that allow the admin to see the Control Objects - i.e. Control Objects can only be viewed through TM1 Perspectives, etc.

I believe that it is noted in the documentation (somewhere ...) that control cubes are not available in C8.

If you want to expose this information to users via C8 you will have to create replica cubes, populate them from the source control cubes via rule and give users read rights to the replica cubes.

There is a workaround for your problem. You can create a portlet in C8 BI which points to a TM1 cubeview (see TM1 Installation Guide page 75 - you can find the install file named C8_TM1_Portlets_win32_8.4.28.4.tar.gz in the 9.4.1 install folder).
We use quite a lot of portlets for reporting purposes. It's like having TM1Web in C8 BI.
Though portlets don't work properly with 9.4.1 FP3. FP2 or FP1 are fine.
