Cafe
Hello All, I have been playing with Cafe i.e. Analysis for Microsoft Excel on Version 10.2 with Excel 2010. I must admit I am astounded by the performance of Cafe over the Wan - Well Done IBM but ... is anybody using it ? How and what are the best practices ? Any pointers would be great. Cheers Afshin

Re: Is it better having TM1 on cloud?
Spoke to one of the Senior IBM reps ( not a coin operated one ) this morning while on the way to a client and I mentioned the cloud and specifically around TM1 in the cloud. The strategy according to him is TM1 in the cloud is to be seen that TM1 can be deployed in the cloud. This is to protect it a...

Re: TM1 Report Printing/Production
"I have 57 reports and am done - until they decide to change actuals/budget/forecast and I have to run them all over again!" I am not sure what you mean by Run them all over again. Sorry I am missing a key point in your question , do you then send the TM1 reports via email to individuals ?...

Re: TM1 10.2 Available for Download
Thanks Kyro for the results interesting that 50% increase in performance in loading a CSV is not bad and the performance of Cube View Load is great. I will do some testing later tonight and see how 10.2 performs on a 50 GB model. Cafe looks interesting and would love to see someone stress test it. C...

Re: TM1 in MS Sharepoint
There are inherent benefits of performance using Citrix for TM1Web although a bit overkill in terms of cost so if there are a few Citrix Boxes that are lying around then that's the way you go.

Re: In a global context, how does TM1 compare to...
IMHO most of the threads on TM1 competitors have not been updated for a while. The fact is IBM for all the wonderful work that they have done ( get the friggin doco right first ) have left the Engine untouched but what I find particularly disappointing is the Excel Addin , lack of Office Integration...

Re: TI SQL performance issue
From my experience and we use Drill Through's extensively to give users access to GL Data from their ERP's. The initial SQL request by TI generally takes a few seconds and the subsequent ones are generally few seconds.

Re: TI SQL performance issue
Stupid question but how long does this take if the offending SQL is not in a drill-through process !! Also without understanding your Tables , cardinality of data and Indexes , I would write the offending SQL as below -- Restrict the Number of rows and then Join 3 tables SELECT AL1.age_bucket, AL3.i...

Re: iphone/Android data input anybody?
I would use kendoui to Load Data into a RDBMS and then use T1 with Chore to load into TM1. Cheap as and you could get some very good guys to the kendoui bit.

IMHO as an external consultant there is a prfessional and moral obligation that you atleast mention to your client about Cognos Controller and all its features before developing the same in TM1.

Re: TM1 trend forecasting
Alternatively you could 1) Download and Install R. 2) Install all the packages that are relevant for forecasting. I suspect the R package forecast and TTR would be enough. 3) Spit the Source Data out from TM1 using a TI 4) Call R package via a command line from TI and output the forecast data into a...

Re: Tm1 Reports
Hi Ravi, Sorry I am not sure if you are asking for TM1 active forms or BI active reports. But if you were asking for Active Reports. BI Active Reports could be more used for Dashboard and are often offline i.e. users download a mht file which contains all the data and the user can click to get to 5 ...

Re: Tm1 Reports
You have not stated your version of TM1 or Cognos BI but I would go with Active Reports and TM1 using Dynamic Query Mode. The performance is very good although your success will lie in all the points that BigB has pointed out. The other options with TM1Web and Perspectives unfortunately don't have th...

Again too little information for use to help, Is this happening for one user or all users. If its one all you do is rename the existing ribbon and copy a fresh one that is working. You are better of renaming the ribbon to be honest. IBM have not fixed the performance of the Ribbon since 9x days and ...
