Re: Another TM1 TOP

what are people using in 10.2.2. I saved a copy of the 9.5.1 installer just to make sure I can reinstall TM1top when necessary. Despite the fact that TM1top was pulled out of the 10.2 installers, it still works fine. Operations Console? What are your comments on it please? Ops Console is crashy, sl...

Re: Current Time in GMT

Thanks all. Robin's method is the one I implemented-- rather not deal with manual corrections for DST, easier to just suck up writing a file and importing it. My process was using datasource none so luckily I was able to build it in to the existing process instead of creating an extra/child one. For...

Current Time in GMT

The TM1 documentation doesn't specify what timezone NOW is in, but I've read a few places that it should be in GMT. However, it appears to be in local based on my tests. e.g. just now a server in Sydney returned 20166.278414352 and Singapore 20166.153113426. I do not have a tm1-log.properties file o...

Re: TM1 Web 10.2 Integrated Login Kerberos setup

When you say "integrated login" you do mean CAM with LDAP Namespace plus SSO? Because that's the only way logon without being challenged for user name and password is going to work in the new 10.2 web world. Yes, SSO via Kerberos. I suppose "integrated login" isn't an accurate d...

Re: TM1 Web 10.2 Integrated Login Kerberos setup

Hi, sorry to bring up the dead, but did anyone get this working sucessfully? I have a new Windows 2008 Server VM, installed 10.2.2 and then the Fix Pack, however, the integrated login via the Web DOES NOT want to play... and the only error I get is "Login Failed, please try again. I have gone ...

Re: Cube Performance Tuning

Random thoughts: Eliminate the "IF" where you test to see if the Functional Currency is blank. Replace with TI or business process to always have a value in that attribute. Looks like you're doing a movements calculation via rules for all periods. This going to be super slow. At a minimum,...

Well that didn't last long...

Interim fix 2 has been released for both 10.2.0 Fix Pack 2 (10.2.0.2) and 10.2.2 Fix Pack 2 (10.2.2.2).
Unless I'm misreading the bulletins (1, 2) 10.2.2 FP2 already has the patch, so there's no IF.

Re: Bandwidth Consideration

Assuming you're interested in performance and not usage, here's the one liner: for native access, users should be on the same LAN. Most WAN access is going to be unacceptably slow. I'm located in Florida and have about 90 ms pings to the server in San Francisco. It's completely unusable natively for...

Straight Excel, both via RDP/RemoteApp and natively installed. No Citrix.

Re: TM1 ribbon performance in 9.5.2

Yes, serious issues for us on 10.2.2 FP1. We had our users disable it (by naming the file). No real functionality loss, and people were used to going through the Add-Ins tab anyway.

A Brief UI/UX Rant

My migration from TM1 9.5.1 has 10.2.2.1 has largely gone well and there are a number of great improvements (MTQ being a big one), but I just can't get over the HUGE step backwards in UI/UX. It's always been somewhat bad, but I literally cannot think of a worse design. I guess maybe if they made the...

Re: RAM SIZE Details

Be careful with Persistant Feeders, some of them can get quite big. Why would persistent feeders affect RAM usage? In my (relatively small/new) experience with them, RAM usage is actually substantially lower since the garbage memory allocated at startup with MaximumCubeLoadThreads seems to be elimi...

If this is for training, why not just install 32-bit TM1? It's unlikely you're going to need > 3GB.

Re: Rule driven alias - performance issues for maintenance

As long as you don't have users manually adding elements into the dimension you can run the alias part of your TI within the TI that adds new elements and you should never have an issue with it getting out of sync. I would say the only reason to use a rule would be if users manually add elements to...

Re: Rules Issues when moving a 9.5.2 model to 10.2.2

When I first started up our 9.5.1 model in 10.2.2 FP1 I had the same problem. Turns out they tightened up some of the rule syntax and previously valid rules were now invalid. There were no warnings until I opened up the affected rule file. I'd start there-- even if you're not getting an explicit err...

Re: About rules for numbers and for string

You're right, Lotsa. I just built this in TM1 10.2.2 FP1 (10.2.20100.123), and it works as intended. I think this one can be chalked up to a bug in EP_explorer's version (10.1.1 based on profile). At the risk of being accused of being an IBM support sleeper agent: upgrade to latest version. 1.gif

Re: About rules for numbers and for string

Since it's working on the first set of rules and not on the second, it sure looks like a feeder issue to me. If you zero suppress, does the string column in the middle cube disappear? What happens if you remove the SKIPCHECK in your rules? If it works w/o SKIPCHECK, add some feeders (and a FEEDSTRIN...

Re: CELLPUTS on Security Cube vs ElementSecurityPut

I'm going to guess that ElementSecurityPut is a redundant function to CellPutS('}ElementSecurity_dimname',...) in the same manner that AttrPutS is redundant to CellPutS('ElementAttribute_dimname'....). So, you're probably going to need a SecurityRefresh whenever you alter the security cubes in any w...

Re: cognostm1 cubeview export recent six months data by usin

Options: Include all months and two years in your datasource view and ItemSkip unneeded months in metadata/data tabs. Use two TI processes. Set datasource = none and iterate through cells manually in metadata/data tabs. Unless it's a ton of data, I'd prob just use the first one and call it a day.
