Re: Log chore registering/unregistering
If you were to choose to keep it in TM1. I have started created an administration server with very limited access. This houses all the system admin chores and then interacts with the other servers using RunTI. This way I can consolidate my backup and other admin processes in one spot.

Re: Slow TM1 10.1 Client Install
From the testing that I did I narrowed the speed issue down to Anti Virus software. I don't have the specific numbers but the install time for me when I disabled antivirus was much lower then when it was on.

Re: TM1 Web login page formatting error: version 10.1.1
As far as number 1 goes i suspect that you are correct on the permissions. To address your question as to why, I have seen this happen when everything from a previous installation was not cleared out. The installer with copy the files but not change the permissions. If there were still TM1 folders i...

Re: Cell Security in TM1
As long as you have a good group convention the amount of groups is not really an issue. With the information given I think the easiest way to achieve this would probably be through a group per user rather then a group per intersection (the user name would also be the group name for a one to one mat...

Is that the error you are getting from the services GUI? Have you checked the logs in the event viewer? you can sometimes get more details from there.

Re: Segregation of duties - Technology vs User-Developers?
I would agree with David on the sentiments that your situation is not out of the ordinary. I can remember going to old Applix conferences and literally being one of the only purely IT people in attendance. For me that has changed since TM1 is a product where I don't believe you can have the clear se...

Re: Spontaneous rollback from transaction log.
Under the 9.5 series I can remember rollbacks in things like Save Data All when the log file size grows pretty large, but dont recall anything on the forum about spontaneous data rollbacks . I did a few quick searchers and did not notice anything either.

Re: Help Required on MDX Query
If you have not looked the MDX primer is a great place to start. I think there is a copy on this forum somewhere, but the latest and greatest can be found using a google search. This is a great document for getting into MDX in TM1.

Re: Any recommendation/guidance to the user on 32-bit Vs. 64
No, there is not a 64 bit client. The 64 bit install puts in the 32 bit client. From a client perspective Matt is correct in that there would be no benefit that would be noticed. There are small server considerations (increased memory for address space), if you are going 64 bit I would hope the hard...

Re: TI ODBC Issue
What DataType are these columns defined as?
Have you tried to convert them to something else in the query? Maybe do a concatenation for testing? Or possibly do a hard coded value in the select just to test that there is not something strange going on with the odbc driver.

Re: Installer Sizes
You are not the only one. Considering across all our environments we have to do the install 14 times for various pieces (not including clients) it is a pain. Then the tar inside of the zip thing is amazing (or what ever order it is). The 2 gig download because 6 when I have to unpack it twice and th...

Re: Web-sheet loading time drastically increased
Did this new column exceed the bounds of your view (or RPTVIEW if an active form) statement? If you are requesting items out of this range then you can easily bloat load and calc times .

Re: Removing the Danger of Data Spreading
I think this would be great. We have already asked IBM for some control on their break back functionality. Our request did not go to the level of controlling menus and the like, but we were wanting some control of the feature (at least a server level toggle).

Re: Long running queries block TM1
You might want to drop a line to IBM. I did a quick search and cannot see it, but I know there was a defect in the 9.5 series where long running threads were causing locking. They might be able to point you to where the fix was implemented or a possible timeframe.

Re: TM1 Model to DOORS
You are going to find that TM1 does not integrate with much easily. If you are looking to build xml schemas and the like of your TM1 model to import you will probably want to look at the various APIs to connect to TM1 via a Java or .Net. I thought at one point (and it may be in the commercial sectio...

Re: Eliminate Circular reference in a calculation
Not sure how big of a change it would be in your application, but I generally prefer to do these type of things in a consolidation. MinSal MinSalInput AdjustmentValue The consolidations quicker for TM1 to perform then rules so I prefer to use consolidation whenever possible for simple math issues.

I can tell you to ignore my advice posted earlier. We have been testing 10.1 FP1 and one of my fellow developers just brought up a similar issue. After debugging our issue it was entirely PC and user specific. To fix we did a complete reset of IE. Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->Reset Please save...

On top of the TM1 Security setup I would also check that they have the same windows rights to all the temp web folders (they are specifically pointed out in the web install docs).

I dont know if there is a flaw in their checking logic, but we were ...
