Rule
Hope somebody could throw a light on my misunderstanding: I try to implement a spreading procedure and first of all I want to have an indicator for changes at all (by rule). I attached a picture showing the cube, the attributes cube assigned to the main cube and the rule: ['Changed',{'A','B'},'Expen...

Re: Retrieving Data using Alternate Hierarchy
You could retrieve data in PA2 directly from a MDX view. And MDX supports qualifying particular hierarchies per dimension like [Time].[Calendar].[Year] where Calendar would be one hierarchy beyond others into the Time dimension. MDX views as a TI data source Previously, a view could be created and s...

In the PA docs there are many functions supporting the new hierarchy feature, maybe this could do the job?
As far as there is a subset ALL in place for the regraded hierarchy...

Re: Tracking User Logins
Sorry for the late feedback. I tried it without a path: Defined logfile was created into the folder where the tm1slog.properties resides (same as TM1s.cfg). But empty. So generally the triggering works somehow under the hood, but not the entry of the log event. Then I tried the style with double bac...

Re: Tracking User Logins
You mean I need to switch on the auditing function to get system logging? That leads to "game over" for me. I reside in Germany, and if I would activate auditing (which logs much more than just logins...) I would at least get serious trouble with the working council (and probably commit a ...

Re: Tracking User Logins
Unfortunately my typo only occured in the post, but not in the filename... this would have been easier  I used lotsarams script, but faced the same experience: Log-file (userlogin.log) will be created after saving the file changes for ....properties. Then starting Perspectives, logging in, logg...

Re: Tracking User Logins
I tried the way using the log4j logger. Generally, it works as the TM1llogin.log-File was created immediately. But when I log in to that server, the file keeps empty. Do I have to maintain some different switches somewhere to get some content into that file? The tm1slog.properties resides now in the...

Re: Need Help in coding
First of all you should prepare your metadata in advance, preferably outside of TM1. For example using an ETL-Tool (like Pentaho PDI or Talend). Or at least via Excel. Then you could import this preferably via a process (or for prototyping also by copy and paste from Excel). Don't forget to read as ...

Re: Tracking User Logins
If I don't configure the interval very narrow, I would have always a lack of actuality. If I configure it to update frequently, IBM warns about problems. Is there any way to trigger it proactive somehow? The docs don't indicate that, but maybe I use the wrong search terms. I mean to configure the in...

Re: where to find active clients
Another useful dynamic subset in the Clients dimension is the current user. {StrToMember("[}Clients].["+USERNAME+"]")} Thank you, very nice. But I have to admit that I'm wondering, what kind of syntax the part USERNAME is. I don't find it somewhere in the manuals. Is it a synony...

For me it worked even not with a restricted (named) range.
TM1 10.2.0 FP3, and, indeed, it is the german version of Excel 2013 I use for development.
But on the server is installed english version of Excel 2010.
Could the different versions of Excel cause additional malfunctions?

The topic is a little older, but just to share another possible solution to this: I solved it for my own purposes using yED: https://www.yworks.com/products/yed You can prepare a adjacence matrix in Excel, open this Excel file with the yED editor and point it to the matrix. It will build a .graphml-...

Here the result in the Subseteditor: TM1_DIM_DATE_ALT_NAV_PATH_Pic4.png It seems like I could add only max. 3 pictures per post... Note, that I prefixed the year level members (CY for calendar year, CW for calendar week, so furtherly the derived variable is used). When I left the years as they were ...

Re: Time dimension, alternate drill-down path
You need to prepare a data source for this having a PK for each granular item and for each level an identifier also as a label value (in my case it's an import via ODBC/SQL): TM1_DIM_DATE_ALT_NAV_PATH_Pic1.png Then you define this PK as an element and all other identifiers as Consolidation (my pic s...

I would think of a mixup of both measures like interest (with negative sign) and payment (kept with positive sign) to be generalized as accounting transactions. Then ordering this by time and making a cumulation per transaction, similar as my bank is doing in my account statements. After each iterat...
