Re: How to make system appear "offline" - TM1Web login unavailable

If you dont need TM1Web/Applicaiton Web to check your admin changes. It would be a possibility to just stop those services. Another solution I have used once was to close the firewall on the web-server so noone could access it. This way I could use the system since I was on the server. But noone els...

Thx for sharing!

I'm very curious to hear more about that "scripting language" in the coming years. In a way I hope that its not a new language but just regular javascript or python or something.

Live editing should be doable via rest. But Im afraid I dont have the skills to make it happen.

But as far as I understood it thats how the TM1 add-in for sublime does it.

So the MDX Views are not the magic I was hoping for to force my TI process to loop through the source in a way I want it to then. Thanks for the clarification.

I wish I could say I didn't. Maybe I read too much into it and that it doesn't matter at all, but that you want a predictable order of your variables.

Re: Dimension Order in an MDX cube view as datasource

Hi, I haven't started with the MDX views yet as my MDX-skils are pretty crappy (Any tips on resources?). But does an MDX cube view differ in a "normal" cube view when used as a data source when it comes to dimension orders? Exporting using a "normal" cube view uses the cube dimen...

Re: Why IBM should sell off TM1 by James Wakefield

Interesting read. But it really needs to be read as a text written by someone that worked with TM1, and now work with one of its main competitors, Anaplan. So as much as it is interesting, its aim is to deem TM1/PA as an inferior system. Now I haven't worked with Anaplan for a few years. But as far ...

Did you check the firewall? Both the windows one and there is probably some azure security stuff as well.

Re: TM1 service holding open ODBC?

Try to add some validations and other checks that also triggers a close. Otherwise you risk having the connection stay open because of an error.

Or if you know that the DBAs are running backups at night. Add a process with ODBC close in your own nightly backup routine.

Are you an admin person of that TM1 model, or what is your role with respect to TM1 ? Yes I'm an admin/developer. I was working on some sort of "ultimate period/time dimension creator". But to calculate some things I needed to know where the tm1s.cfg file was located. Since I need to know...

Right at the moment I'm testing out issues relating to the new Excel Dates server config parameter and plan to whack the whole thing with a complete overhaul. Yes, if its Microsoft MDS you are talking about its all in the manual: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/master-data-services/master-data-services-overview-mds?view=sql-server-2017 Which method to use will depend totally upon your architecture in your DW. You can probably find a guide on some SQL...

Re: Slow Login in Architect

Do you use SSL? If so, between which components?

Is BI and TM1 installed on the same server? Is TM1 installed on one or multiple servers?

Do you have any anti-virus on the servers?

Would it be possible for you to test with native login once to see if you still if its still slow?

Couldn't you just run the CE edition? Do you really need the EE edition?

Also new editions of Windows Server will actually have a little Linux core in them. Its going to be interesting to see how this affects deployment. I want to think it will allow for a best of both worlds.

Wait?

Is runprocess already in 2.0.6? I thought I had to wait until 2.0.7 which is getting constant delays.

Or is 2.0.7 already on the cloud plattform?

Re: TM1 Instance is crashing because the process cannot access its own log file

I have this feeling that something changed within PA/TM1 in one of the later versions. I feel like it used to be that I could just turn off an instance. Change the location of the config file etc and everything was fine and dandy. But as in the problem here. I've noticed that even when shutting down...
