posted into the server config rather than the client one ... silly me, working fine again now.

Re: ***Log in Failed****
Hmmm, weird. Just testing 9.4 MR1 FP1 32 bit on a 64 bit virtual server to see if we can migrate to that soon. Mostly working okay apart from the odd quirk, but have just hit a problem that I've seen 3 times now. When the server is restarted through the service everything looks okay in the log, and ...

Re: TM1 9.4
I wouldn't have believed it was that painful until I've just spent an hour of my life trying to find and download 9.4 Unfortunately I have no idea where my welcome letter is from 10 months ago, and when I requested they resend it, its going to our old office we last worked in 2 years ago (I had an i...

Excel 2007 - Most stable valid version
As part of our office upgrade next year we are having to go to Excel 2007. We are currently on 8.4.5 32bit on Windows Server 2003, with the 3GB switch (and regularly hitting that). We had a flirtation with 9.0 but that went horribly wrong with large locking issues that kept bringing down the server....

I always liked Duncan's Product Viewer, with planes/brakes instead of biscuits. The pictures added a lot, and I always think product viewers are a good idea.
As for us ... energy consumption was one, via meter readings. Not that exciting or funky though

Crazy User Request - Print Report
Just going through my outstanding TM1 requests from users and I've come across this one again. Scenario. 1/ User takes a slice from TM1 and then proceeds to build upon the spreadsheet 2/ User at a later stage wants to take a non-updating copy of the report 3/ User opens up existing spreadsheet and d...

Re: Chores & Daylight Saving Time
very very annoying and if I remember, one of the first problems I asked when we got TM1 4 years ago. There is another option though now, which requires slightly less hair pulling (which is lucky as thanks to TM1 I don't have much left!) d/ Use tm1choreexecute which is an applix tool that allows you ...

Re: Upgrade - TM1 Version selection
If you are considering 9.1\9.4 for improved reliablity and performance take care. Earlier SP's had severe problems and, although the worse ones are fixed, in certain areas performance is still not back to 8.4 levels. We have a client who had to upgrade from 8.4.5 to 9.4 because they were migrating ...

Fantastic, cheered me up this morning.
Love the question about multiple hierarchies, just shocked us here
I had heard there was going to be official certification of TM1 Developer status at some point, but if it's based around this, I don't think I'll push too hard to get it ...

ATTRS question
Okay I may be overlooking the blinding obvious but for some reason I can't get this to work. I have a standard cube which is in Periods. The users want it in weeks, which is fine, but the pricing for a valuation routine is stored in a period cube maintained by the user. I've put the weeks into the s...

Re: Eating disk Space
When the server crashes, it usually dumps a large log file to that folder. In theory Applix can take that file and work out what went wrong, in practice it's pretty useless and can be deleted straight away, unless you have a persistant problem.
Thats my experience anyway, deleted one this morning.

Re: ObjectDuplicate client lock
Well I can't say it was definitely this problem in 8.3.2 but we've had freezing problems since then. It was only when TM1top came along we were able to specificially identify this as an objectduplicate client lock. Still a reasonably big problem now, I'd say we have about 3-4 of these a week across ...

Standard Deviation in TM1
Hi all, Just a quick question. Am currently building a safety stock calculator that was previously in Excel but am replicating in TM1 to make data collection and entry a lot easier. I can do most of the stuff, just coming a bit of a cropper with one calc. I need to work out the standard deviation of...

Re: 8.4.x support
Still on 8.4.5 here and its pretty reliable, well more so than the previous versions or the 9.1 we tried live for about 2 weeks before we had to pull it.
To be honest though, thought 8.4.x went out of support at the end of last year, so a pleasant surprise

Re: How to update cube?
I'm surprised you can get to that tab and not the Maps/Cube one, usually won't let you if you don't have the correct number of dimensions specified.

Have you got a screenshot of the variables tab of the TI and one of the dimension list for the cube involved? Ta
