Re: Cognos Express 10.1 CXMD in a different drive

Hi Yes, I usually move it away from C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Cognos Expres\Xcelerator\smth I do not remember\CXMD to a different drive. I leave the CXMD folder there, with the single tm1s.cfg file in it and so no need for reregistering the service. Then change the data and log directory entries in...

Re: Intermittent N6) Client not registered

Hi James It occurred sometimes at us but we could work around this with Logon As (we did not set up SSO). I have never been able to trace this back to any certain reason and could never constantly reproduce it. But the PMR recommends upgrading to in 9.5.1.. We used to have a bug in Cognos Planning 8...

I have also never used in a PROD environment just tried it out. You can use it with TI only.

Re: Locking down cube area from change incl TI procs/admins

I am on 9.0, so I was wondering if this is a problem fixed in later releases. Starting from 9.5.? (2 maybe), you can use data reservation for such purposes. It is quite similar to the 'Lock' function for dimension elements just you can do it for a combination of dimensions. It also prevents Admins ...

Re: 64 and 32 Bit Application

Hi Client applications like Architect and Perspectives are 32-bit applications. In theory, you can install them on a 64bit op.system. For example, we quite often install them even on the server, Win2008 64bit. Supported software environments: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27021976...

Re: How to disable Cognos Express checking for updates

Hi Peter,

What happens if you try opening your clients directly from a shortcut to tm1p.xla or tm1a.exe instead of using the Java-based Xcelerator Client and and Architect icons?

I have just tried out and I think it is enough to create 10 groups instead of 25: A, B, C, D, E, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 User A1 has to be assigned to two groups: A and 1 Element security for group A: WRITE for A, READ for other countries, READ for all products. Re: Excel calculation puzzle

Hi Ian We also experienced something similar that you described. Users had to choose a month on the first sheet and all other sheets had a reference to this value. Pressing an F9 resulted in KEY_ERR in some cells (but not all in our case) but while going through the sheets one by one and pressing Sh...

Re: Contributor Security in 10.1

UPDATE: To be more precise: when you modify Rights in Performance Modeler, changes are saved to element security -> }ElementSecurity_ApprovalDimName cube created/modified. At this stage, more than one user group/user might have WRITE access to a node. But as soon as you take ownership you are the on...

Re: Contributor Security in 10.1

Have you managed to figure out how security has changed in CX 10.1? One thing I realized is that 10.1 applies data reservation for Contributor applications. It ensures that users who do not have ownership of a node, are not able to edit data outside of the Contributor apps as they could have done i...

Re: Virtual Dimension Lookup D-Link equivalent in TM1 9.5x

This must be a Cognos Planning thing Virtual dimension is something like the picklist function in TM1 if the picklist is based on a dimension or a subset. In this case, the measure 'Sale Team Type' in the target cube is a 'virtual' dimension and 'SalesTeamTypes' in the source cube is a regular dime...

Re: TM1 package error

hi I do not think you can publish a Cognos package directly from TM1. In Express, you can do it by Framework Manager or you can do it by using the Manager console, using TM1 as native data source. And then, when you published the package to Cognos Connection, you should check whether your group has ...

Re: TM1 package error

Hi

First of all I would check whether the user group your user belongs to has access to the Cognos package 'FattBackOfficeItalia'. I think at least 'Execute' and 'Traverse' have to be granted, maybe also 'Read'.
Have you published this package through Framework Manager to Cognos Connection?

Re: New TM1 Application cannot be added

Hi When logging in into TM1 Application Web, the username and password have to match among all tm1 servers you want to reach. So for example, if GO_New_Stores has the default admin/apple, and you log into TM1 Application with this user, the exact same username AND password has to be also an admin us...

Re: User can't see Application on web -TM1 worrkflow Contrib

It will appear for UserA only if she is assigned to at least one node. You can do it under Rights in Performance Modeler or when logged in to http://localhost:9510/pmpsvc as admin, under Actions, choose Manage Rights. Give 'Submit' right to UserA for the desired node.
