Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24
I might be one of the few but I always use ops console now in place of TM1 Top and don't really have any issues - other than remembering to turn off compatability view in IE (I have a blindspot in my memory on that one.) Nope, we use it and after some setup niggles it seems to work just fine, both ...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24
PMhub is currently causing issues, otherwise the rest has been simple enough. The technote for the pmhub section is incorrect (for Windows at least) and I've got an open PMR with IBM on trying to find out what the correct actions are.

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24 (TM1 SSL Certificates Expire on 24 November)
IBM has been shipping updated SSL certificates for a while. They're just not the default. The 'v2' certificates expire in 2022 and contain a 2048 bit key instead of the default 1024 bits. Using these certificates is a much better option than disabling SSL, and is one you can already start testing/d...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24
You can only set to use ONLY SSL client (False) or both Non-SSL and SSL (True). Doesn't seems to have a way to disable SSL totally. At the moment installing V2 certs seems to be the only way before a new 1024 certs are made available via fix. As luck would have it I've only just installed a new TM1...

Re: TM1 Application Server
which FP release are you on? we've recently had the same problem on FP1, something popped the JVM RAM limits within the apache server, which by default is only 768MB. Event log in Windows gave us out of memory errors at the time of the crash, IBM are currently investigating why it's suddenly balloon...

Re: Your Experience with TM1 10.2.2 and IBM's Support
On the other hand, I did not know you can run TM1 server in one version but TM1Web in another version. That works?? I'm not aware of an official statement, but generally speaking new versions of the TM1 server are backward compatibly with older versions of the clients (TM1Web, Perspectives, etc...)...

Re: Your Experience with TM1 10.2.2 and IBM's Support
I cannot comment on specifics, but i might be able to bring this up later today with some IBM people who happen to be here. I do know a bit about the bug management process and 6-8 weeks is normal, also reasonable when you understand how that process works. I know that doesn't help us as end users w...

Re: Monthly Poll 201508: What Mode Of Security Do You Use?
Its forced on us - we are now trying to move to Cognos BI for reporting, away from the traditional Excel route. To avoid a crazy amount of security admin we need single sign on so CAM was the only choice in reality.

Yes, ages ago they provided a fix. You'll need to look thru the release notes to find out which one it's covered by, i think its FP3

Re: DimensionDeleteAllElements Issues
Actually ironically I ran into a bug to do with DimensionDeleteAllElements on Friday with 10.2.1 The situation was if DimensionDeleteAllElements is called and then subsequently there are no further metadata actions in the process then the DimensionDeleteAllElements has no effect. (Say for example t...

Re: DimensionDeleteAllElements Issues
In this case multiple commit mode is a red herring. Multiple commit mode ONLY applies to chores. It inserts a commit between each TI that is explicitly defined as belonging to the chore. It has no impact/relevance to processes called by ExecuteProcess. They still run in the parent TI context. Also,...

Re: DimensionDeleteAllElements Issues
Seems like i've been caught out by the change to single/multiple commit of chores. Previously everything run in the way single commit is supposed to behave, chores as well as TI. But 10.2 defaults to multi commit which screws up anyone trying to chain TIs together when some rely upon the actions of ...

Re: DimensionDeleteAllElements Issues
its a complicated chain in total (replicates structures / data across multiple servers) but the TI itself is the only thing making the dim changes and calls no others. The code has been in place & working flawlessly for years but we've recently moved from 9.5.2 to 10.2.2 which is why i think the...

DimensionDeleteAllElements Issues
has anyone found in 10.2.2 that DimensionDeleteAllElements no longer works when used as part of a single TI to rebuild a dim? On it's own it works just fine, but when used as part of a rebuild it's doing nothing. It means if a structure is altered its leaving the old parts around as well as building...

Re: Advanced Rules Editor - Consistency, Thy Name Is IBM
Yep Top is depreciated as of 10.1, along with A.R.E. Which is hilarious when trying to debug an issue with IBM support and they asked me to grab the logs from it. On a 10.2.2 server. A.R.E. is still supplied as far as i know, it just isn't going to be looked at should you have any issues. My guess i...

Re: Error opening Perfomance modeler-
Finally found our issue, but not the cause. It's nothing to do with servers, it's the client that is borked. Check AppData\Roaming\IBM\Cognos Performance Modeler\configuration for the user to see if any files exist in the versioned sub-folder that resides there. It is supposed to be created when PM ...

Unable to launch Performance Modeler
Currently i've found only 2 users who can launch PM, everyone else gets the error below; pop-up2.JPG It doesn't matter how PM is launched, both from PMPSVC and from the users PC the same error occurs. The log created spews loads of info about java stuff not being able to handle PNG files either due ...
