Re: Use of VBA in PA

Are you talking about publishing to TM1 Web / PASS from within PAFE

If so I don't think it is possible using VBA.

Most cube to cube data transfers follow this sequence Prolog tab Define the Destination View and ViewZeroOut Define the Source View and declare it to the datasource. Re: Can you use ConsolidatedCountUnique with criteria

Hi, I'd be very careful about using the Consolidate.... family of functions. They do some strange things to the calculation engine including (I believe / been told) turn off the sparse data calculation methods (skipcheck / feeders) "underneath" them. They can lead to significant RAM growth...

Re: How to Populate Cube thru T1 or other process

Hi, It's Friday and I'm about to log so I'll be brief. Problem 1. " There is a process that deletes the ORGs and then repopulates the ORGs to bring in new orgs if there are any" Check if this is doing a DimensionDeleteAllElements, if so you should flatten the structure instead (i.e. remove...

Re: Tm1 Instance starting up failure

Probably best to show the lines it is stopping at. My best guess is that you have persistent feeders on and this is enabling fast start-up. Sometimes it will decide to rebuild the feeders which can take a v long time and you will see the log pause on these lines for long periods. Key point is if the...

Rule Dependency Query

Just want to double check before I over engineer... I have two cubes that I want to be totally independent in order to preserve the Rule Cache in each cube. If the rule sheet for both cubes reference the attributes of the same dimension via a lookup, something like a prior period lookup then does th...

Re: Flexible PickList Definitions

This was touched on in some other threads recently. You can only point the picklist at a dimension, set or static list. Therefore if you have a complex need delivered by MDX then you must create a public set to deliver the list. You can not point a picklist directly at a MDX statement. If you have a...

Re: ViewZeroOut doesn't work

Super unlikely.... Most likely you have a C level in your view, you can only zero out N level data and it must be explicitly in your view / sets. Other reasons for confusion to arise. It's ruled data and therefore can't be zeroed out. Suggest you post your code and / or screen shot of view definition

Re: Saving and Reusing user settings

There is an RFE here
https://ibm-data-and-ai.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/PAOC-I-318

that would allow picklists to defined by MDX only without the need for a set in between, I see it's been marked as not for consideration 😭 but allegedly even a closed RFE can be reopened if it get's enough votes!

Re: Saving and Reusing user settings

SHowing the alias should be a property of the set not the picklist definition? i.e. Save the set with the alias set. I'm not aware of any bugs in current releases in this area

Re: Saving and Reusing user settings

Sounds like a good first step. You could have put your rule against the Picklist attribute rather than in the picklist cube. You only tend to need picklist cubes with much more complex logic against a data cube rather than the simple 2d list we are working with here. (i.e. it's the picklist cube you...

Re: RAM usage exploding with CubeUnload and ViewConstruct

If the method you have picked for keeping the cubes aligned is not working, have you considered other methods? A couple of methods, there are probably others.

If you have logging enabled you could consider replication.
Export and import of active periods

Re: Prerequisites and Challenges: PAW installation

any suggestions please we are in the middle of the decision-making to with PAW or stay with TM1 Web. Go RHEL for PAW. PAW is massively better than TM1Web, assuming you want to use dashboards of course. Much better dev and admin tools as well. You get to use Pafe too, baring in mind that Excel 365 a...

Is there any way to monitor the excluded directory to see if any files/folders are modified for malicious activity? something like that? to prevent those excluded files/folders from safe. please suggest if these are feasible options. Re: Saving and Reusing user settings

Hi, This is the section of the help on picklists https://www.ibm.com/docs/ru/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=dimensions-creating-pick-lists It's normal (for me) to use a subset (https://www.ibm.com/docs/ru/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=types-subset-pick-lists) driven picklist. Normally the set that ...

Re: Performance drop between 2.0.9.1 and 2.0.9.15

Just in case you've been misinformed somewhere, is there a reason you are going to 2.0.9.15? It's over a year old now, 2.0.9.18 is probably what you should be moving too. Around the 15 release there was a lot going wrt to ODBC that may have impacted other areas. Given that it's fairly trivial to fli...

Re: Office 2019 Update breaking Pafe

I think the .Net update KB5031904 is not related as I've just been working with a customer who had not had that update but was experiencing the issue.

So, as you say, perhaps an issue with an Office update that has since rolled back.
