Re: tm1 log file delete

I see this file since i use the "IBM Cognos TM1 Operations Console" - but can also be coincidence, because at that time we also went on a new TM1 version. This is a PA 2.0.3 feature https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_op.2.0.0.doc/c_op_log...

Re: Memory Usage Issues - StatsByCube

It is a real pity that you cannot clear the garbage memory as this would allow you to then allocate maximum resources for quick statups of the model. Assume this is not possible? Maybe through a secret number with the DebugUtility command that only ykud seems to know ;-) Don't know any such command...

Re: User driven security

I try to avoid being clever around security :) I'd create an individual group for each user and use the lookup cube to populate element security for cost centres via a TI (it will be very fast and doesn't require a Security Refresh). Doing anything with a rule as you describe would require some real...

Re: Memory Usage Issues - StatsByCube

For example if the view needs 4 gb of memory and there is only 3 gb of garbage memory available the server gets another 4 gb of the unused memory and after the view is no longer needed adds it to the existing 3 gb of garbage for a total of 7 gb. Right or wrong? I'd bet it'll be more the case of the...

Re: Memory Usage Issues - StatsByCube

Unfortunately the }Stats measures don't include any counters for memory used by dimensions and indicies, only cubes, so there will always be a bit of a gap between "Memory used for cubes" and Total Memory less Garbage Memory. I'm pretty sure you know this trick, but, just in case, this wi...

Re: Managing TM1 database assets with Git

With those documents from IBM, you will find yourself struggling with the syntax of tm1project file eventually. Yes, it can do a few things with Git but very hard to use. :? Do you mind sharing what in tm1project file was confusing? I agree it's very far from intuitive, it's more of an API to build...

Re: TM1 Linux shell

The script runs good from terminal / bash but will not run when called from tm1. We gave it 777 just to be safe. We even put a simple echo hello world >> log.txt in the script to see if it ran. Are you trying from the user that runs tm1s? Try running ExecuteCommand ( 'touch /data/disk1/xxx/can_i_cr...

Re: TM1 Admin Right Restriction

I did this once with a separate tm1 model that ran on a separate / isolated server that had file system level encryption and a different set of OS user accounts. Data was transferred to the main model using file transfer, but files were PGP encrypted. HR server would export the encrypted files to th...

Re: Tm1 Model restarting for no apparent reason

Hi Guys Our Tm1 model is re-starting for no apparent reason. The Ram usage on the server is very high - around 97% Could this cause it to restart? The physical server itself did not go down, so I'm surprised that it has restarted itself. Any ideas why? Try looking in Windows Event Log -- it might h...

Re: TM1+CAM Security: see what any user would see

Then I prefer a real client like Architect or PAW, rather than reinventing the wheel - however interesting and challenging that can be 😉 Sure, I'd prefer it as well, but there's none :) I'm not sure PAW will support it anytime soon (they haven't done this in 3 years the capability was there, so it'...

Until then, I will give the SecurityMode=1 option and login with CAM cryptical ID a chance.
Just FYI, IntegratedSecurityMode became a dynamic parameter in PA, so you can flip between 1 and 5 without restarting the service, a little known fact that I really like.

Sorry I just couldn't pass this by without saying that on PA you'd be able to use 'impersonate user' param in REST API and see exactly what that use would see :) https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_rest_api.2.0.0.doc/dg_tm1_odata_auth.html IntegratedSe...

Re: get a list of all groups the user is a member of. On the rules and without feeding.

I created a group and placed it the very first (well, or almost) and, using a recursive rule, I extended the accumulating rule along the flow variable from the last element to the first. Where for each element was taken its next element "|" the name of the group if the user is a member o...

You don't need extra /api/v1 at the end of the url, this should work:

Re: Chrome / IE freeze on maximizing the screen

Hi Paul, Do you have “RecalcOnActivate” option set to Yes in the tm1web config file? If it's on, it'll be a defect addressed under APAR PH18682, you can either request an IF for this defect or upgrade to PA 2.9.1 (don't think it's out yet). Disabling this option will make this freezing way less freq...

You can configure tm1s-log.properties file to record only ERROR and above for Lock component by adding a line like this:
log4j.logger.TM1.Lock=Error
