Hiding long URLs of (email) links?
This is the most basic feature of a hyperlink, although I agree, that an object name would be crisper.

Re: How to Use DBSW
True, I mainly see DBS and DBSW in heritage solutions, or solutions built by or for pre-TI folks. Using rules or TI is faster and more reliable, e.g. to do simulations or to limit typical Excel cell slips. Nevertheless, in some cases, there is some complex Excel logic involved, which you might not w...

Re: RFE 66823-Compare Base to one or more Sandbox scenarios
I still agree with gtonkin when it comes to utilizing sandboxes more easily.
I found this video of Planning Analytics Workspace, which shows how the new (virtual) Hierarchies functionality is leveraged for Sandboxes:

Re: Hold Consolidate and Hold Release in TI
Actually, I came across a user requirement, where centrally/automatically administering holds is exactly, what the client might need. And yes, you could and should train users to use holds. Power users will love this feature during the prep or adjustment of any initial/final plan. But setting holds ...

Re: Breakback on rule calculated cells
Hi there, Honestly, this EP functionality for a set of simple rules in combination with holds would be a nice enhancement for TM1. A good example of generic enhancements I was hoping for, when they started to "integrate" EP functionality. EP has some nice BiFs, which on the other hand are ...

Re: Compare Base to one or more Sandbox scenarios
CAFÉ Flex views allow for this feature, as the sandbox is the top-most "element".
So at least for Excel Power users it is already in place.
And with CAFÉ being the future of Perspectives, I am hoping to see the same in new front-ends such as Planning Analytics as well...

Re: Automatically Expand Active Form Two Levels
OK, one big step forward: Using the supported MDX function DRILLDOWNLEVEL I am getting, what I wanted: Within my example: DRILLDOWNLEVEL( {[Hierarchy Example].[Root]}) results in Root and A, B, C. And I can easily nest the function as often as I want to drill to a deeper level, e.g. to MDX Level 4: ...

Re: Automatically Expand Active Form Two Levels
Exactly, TM1 FILTERBYLEVEL returns the TM1 level you ask for. I hoped and tried FILTERBYLEVEL , but in vain, TM1 does not know this function. At least not documented and I did not find a correct syntax. Having a ragged hierarchy, on top with a varying depth, it is quite hard to determine, what to as...

Re: Automatically Expand Active Form Two Levels
In relation to the topic: I tried the (adjusted) code and it did not work for me. Maybe, because I do have a ragged hierarchy, that is 10 levels deep at most. Two questions of things I do not understand yet: 1. What is the benefit/intention of {TM1FILTERBYPATTERN( {TM1SUBSETALL( [MLOC] )}, "MGM...

Hi there, To start working with TM1's MDX functionality, you should take a look at this document: Creating Dynamic Subsets in Applix TM1 with MDX - A Primer http://bihints.com/book/export/html/68 And keep in mind, that you can do a lot of stuff with TM1, so there might be other ways (than the one's ...

Well, officially it is not supported, but, has it ever been?
An educated guess: It was labeled out-dated to promote Operations Console, which is quite nice.

Re: Potential PI issue with Dimension Updates
Yeah, I would love to see some best practice classes and documents. Well, people tend to need to learn a lot of things the hard way ;-D I came across these topics, when I was designing a master process management concept to get a more flexible chore management functionality. By the way, I am wonderi...

Optional MDX parameter for the SUBNM function
What I would suggest is a MDX parameter for the SUBNM function, the way it is implemented as an optional parameter within the TM1RPTROW function. That would be a very powerful possibility to circumvent dynamic subsets and would allow for easy user-/data-specific frontend interaction, too. This would...

Re: TM1 Web/Perspectives inconsistencies
Although it might be obvious: Have you tried to reboot your (TM1, web, etc. ) server, the corresponding services and Excel? Very uncommon, but I once had a caching problem resulting in a shift of values to the next dimension element. Do you use aliases? There had been TM1 Web issues with that in 9.4...

Re: Active Forms - Different Filters for Different Columns
Hi there, I do have a similar question. I do have an active form with two column blocks, one that shows year-to-date KPIs and another block that shows total-to-date KPIs. That way I got a mix of 17 values of two dimensions (KPI, TIME with year-to-date and total-to-date consolidations). Along with so...
