Excel =SUBNM Limitations
Hello, I was going to ask the question is there a limit to the number of items that can be shown on an Excel SUBNM list . However, I just figured, why don't I try instead of ask. I pointed SUBNM against the longest dimension I have, in this case it's }LineNumber. :D First good news is that it displa...

Really well said and I should have said something to that effect. Thank you to you and the rest of the veterans for training us, the next gen of TM1ers...

Re: Throttle and / or Block a users Rest API connection from third party apps.
I do have a wider concern that this seems to be genuine hole from an InfoSec point of view, it would be extremely difficult / impossible to check if a user who has legitimate access to TM1 was using the RestAPI to pull data and sitting outside of the planning analytics infrastructure. Nefarious use...

Re: Process running on PAoC takes significantly longer than local
I don't think it's a hardware limitation then because the enterprise tier is multi core. Dev and prod are identical in the specs. Sounds like it may be a glitch you're coming across. Possible to change the version on your laptop / spin up VM to the same version as PAOC and see if you can recreate it?

Hi George, By PAoC, I assume you mean "IBM PA on IBM Cloud"? Within that, there's several products that IBM offers: Trial / On Demand / Enterprise Standard / Enterprise Premium. Which one are you using? Regarding Anyone seen this or noticed that their cloud processes at some point got very...

I've heard the following:

2. Mathematical video game.
But the most concise explanation I prefer to use with non-work individuals is:
3. Enterprise-grade Excel spreadsheets.

Re: Unexpected behavior of consolidations
I see what you mean Maren, then just:
1. PNL0000067 set weight to -1.
2. PNL0000068 set weight to 0.
3. Create new element PNL0000068_ABS set weight to 1 and place next to PNL0000068 in the hierarchy.
4. Add rule so PNL0000068_ABS = ABS(PNL0000068). PNL0000068 =feeds=> PNL0000068_ABS.

Re: Unexpected behavior of consolidations
Although the premise around absolute values seems unusual, here's how I would go about this: 1. PNL0000067 set weight to 0. 2. PNL0000068 set weight to 0. 3. Create new element PNL0000067_ABS, place next to PNL0000067 in the hierarchy and set weight to 1. 4. Create new element PNL0000068_ABS, place ...

Re: Unexpected behavior of consolidations
Hello Kaz,
Setting a c-level rule, as you do for PNL00000Q, does not impact higher-lever consolidations, in this case PNL00000H or PNL00000D, as those also consolidate leaf-level elements. You’ll need to use ConsolidateChildren, but this gets messy.

Performance impact of many timestamped transaction logs
Hello all, In our environment we have a daily SaveDataAll chore running during off-hours. As a consequence, we have accumulated many timestamped tm1s*.log file as we don't presently archive these. I recall from a prior thread there IS a performance hit with keeping the timestamp'd transaction logs i...

Re: Copying data TM1
Hello. Data in TM1 is held in leaves, the lowest level of data. Roll-ups / consolidations happen on demand so the copy will also need to occur at the leaf level. The advice Wim gave you is really solid -- consider implementing }bedrock.cube.data.copy . With that process, you can pass high-level sour...

Re: PAW export and send by mail automatically
Hello!
My approach would be to create the views using PAFE API, perhaps CreateFromMDX. It's quite powerful. Then you can use VBA to generate the emails.
Different than your desire to use Planning Analytics Workspace, but Planning Analytics for Excel is more flexible.

MDX statement for pointing to a subset
When writing a view MDX statement inclusive of a subset, what is the preferred syntax to use?
Is it:
(A) [Dimension].[Hierarchy].[Set]
-or-
(B) TM1SubsetToSet([Dimension].[Hierarchy], 'Subset')?
Option (A) is more succinct, but TM1 tends to "auto generate" (B), hence my question.

I just got back to my computer. I can recreate what your screenshot shows. My fix is as follows: 1. Right click on the blank space in the "IBM Planning Analytics" tab and click "Customize the Ribbon". The Excel Options window appears. 2. On the left side of the Excel Options wind...

Re: Icons under Planning Analytics ribbon (excel-addin) is grayed out
Looks like it’s not just grayed out (disabled) but outright missing. I’ve never seen this before and I’m in PAFE 5 days a week for over a year now. A couple of thoughts: — In Excel it’s possible to customize the ribbon. Are the ribbon tab contents “checked” i.e. enabled when you go to edit the ribbo...

Re: LOGGING for }StatsBy Control Cubes
tomok, thank you!
If a blank means YES for logging purposes, then it's doing what is intended.
By the way, would you say it's a good practice to set any control cube, esp. }StatsByX to NO for logging?
