Re: Upgrading from 10.2.2 to PA
Hi Cathy, the basic upgrade for us went pretty smoothly and the regression testing was without major issues to solve. However, I have to point out that we did not have complex Perspectives reports with VBA, so I wouldn't dare to comment on that. Also, we did not use Citrix with Perspectives, so in c...

Re: Upgrading from 10.2.2 to PA
Hi Cathy, it really depends on what you expect from your upgrade. Assuming you want to migrate to Planning Analytics Local, here are a few suggestions: You can install Planning Analytics, copy over your data directories, set up the services in Cognos Configuration and things will most likely work ou...

Re: Planning Analitics Local - Multiple Application Servers on same Windows Server
Hey Ottavio, I think you're making the right choice with moving away from your single server installations to a distributed architecture. If my understanding is correct, you had many servers with installed and configured instances of Cognos BI, and all TM1 components. If you are only using Cognos BI...

Re: subnm with variable overriden
Hi Micheline,
maybe it's clear for everyone else, but can you explain to me what you mean by "the user deploying the accounts"? Furthermore, can you paste the SUBNM formulas that you are using?
Thanks

Re: Cognos Applications (Contributor) Question
About a month ago at the IBM Analytics University conference, IBM claimed they were looking at getting Contributor functionality into the Planning Analytics Workspace. Having said that, God only knows when it will be available, but apparently there's will not to abandon this set of functions. Until ...

Re: Tm1 pax Cognos_Office_Connection_Cache
Hi! Like I wrote in my previous reply, This is just how PAX works. As soon as you put an Exploration on a blank, new Excel, it will get created and it serves a purpose. Don't try to change the way the product works. When you clear the cache, You won't get rid of the sheet, but rather the contents of...

Re: Tm1 pax Cognos_Office_Connection_Cache
Are you trying to delete the Cognos_Office_Connectio_Cache sheet itself? If so, I'd refrain from that. This is just how PAX works. As soon as you put an Exploration on a blank, new Excel, it will get created and it serves a purpose. Don't try to change the way the product works. Rather, go to Option...

Re: High Availability TM1 Web configuration - with WebSphere
Hi Paul, thanks for the tip. I did get in touch with Soufiane, as you suggested. It looks like one just needs to follow the instructions of section 1 of the tech note I linked in the original post, and then make sure that the session stickiness is enabled in the load-balancer. Then, apparently one c...

High Availability TM1 Web configuration - with WebSphere
Hello Everyone, I am planning to build a High Availability cluster of TM1 web servers. I'm at a planning phase right now, collecting information. I have found this tech note with configuration steps: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21671642 However, it was written for Apache Tomcat....

PAW - promotion of books
Hi Everyone, We have two instances of PAW Local (version 2.0.33) running no different Linux machines. For moving content (books) between the two PAW servers, what would be the recommended way? So far I've come through this bit of documentation about the backup and restore functionality: https://www....

Re: How to use Tm1 Pax Apis
I suggest you forget about the .NET API. Also, do not try to convert your existing Perspectives macros. If you need PAX automation, I would start from scratch and by reading the relating documentation: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.ug_cxr.2.0.0.doc/t_...

Re: returnviewhandle
One area where you'd encounter it is drill-through to a TM1 cube view. The drill TI process would have that as a statement in Prolog. If you are new to drill-throughs, check the product documentation of Planning Analytics, you'll find good explanations there.

Re: PAW / PAX performance discussion
What kind of a setup are you using? I found running PAW on a dedicated Linux machine (i.e. running it natively without virtualization like on Windows) that has enough hardware resources really helps.

Re: PA: Multiple web instance
Hi, the following has worked for me: There is a Websphere related config file that you need to locate and amend with the designated parameters. TM1_installation_location\tm1_64\wlp\usr\servers\tm1\server.xml Within the xml file, edit the application node (duplicate it for each tm1web instance and ch...

CAFE VBA/VBS automation - cannot log in to TM1 server
Hi Everyone, I'd like to ask for some help regarding a CAFE VB automation issue. What I'm trying to accomplish : After a data load, automatically refresh a CAFE Excel worksheet (it has two FlexViews) which I use for a post-load data quality check. I'd like to achieve this by executing a VB script fi...

Re: Error: Cannot Connect to admin server at host and port 5498
From what you're saying I'm gathering you're not sure if the update to the SSL certs have has been applied, or you are not sure how to actually do it? Anyways, first of all, are you getting any error messages? If so, it would be good to see them. Secondly, if you have an SSL expiry issue, then in Ar...

Re: Error: Cannot Connect to admin server at host and port 5498
Have you verified your general settings for Port(s), admin host etc both on the client (tm1p.ini) and server (tm1s.cfg) side? Are they all consistent? Also, for the client, are you using it from a machine that is on a different subnet then the server? Because then you need to open the port on the fi...
