Average instead of Consolidation
Hello: I am faced with a problem in TM1 whereby I am trying to get an average at a Consolidated level instead of a count. I have a dimension 'Sales People' which at the n-level lists individual Sales People and at the C-level has a few groupings such as 'South'' which are regions to which they belon...

Excel crashes while running a TI process - is that process cancelled?
If a TM1 user is running a TI process in Perspectives and, during that process, Excel crashes, what happens and what is the best protocol to follow. Is the TI cancelled, or is it partially executed? Do you assume it is cancelled and run that process again?
Thank you in advance.
Thank you in advance.

No that can't be it as it's a new cube / does not have any rules yet. Thank you.

Top level element showing 0 when N levels that roll into it have values
Hello: I have an issue with a consolidated element that appears as 0 when there should be a value present. This is after making a change to a TI that was modified slightly with a new variable added. Prior to adding the variable, the alignment had gone off with their order in the data source and the ...

Re: Rule modification not working
Hello - in the absence of suggestions on how to modify this rule, would anyone have any idea how to achieve this a different way, i.e. via a TI?
Many thanks,

Rule modification not working
Hello: I have an existing rule / feeder that I need to modify that I am having some difficulty with and was wondering if anyone could please help. The logic behind this rule calculation is that it is: For each and every broker (dim 'zz BDE') that has Gross Gross Written Premium in an Underwriting Ye...

Add Alias Attribute to Element
Hello, I have an element that I am adding to a dimension via TI - to do this I have added to the Prolog for the TI: DimensionElementComponentAdd(s_DimSample, 'All Agency Codes', 'FinGLAdjs', 1) which has worked fine. I want to add an alias to this element only 'Finance GL Adjustments'. How would I a...

Re: Process Variable Formula Code not working
Thank you for this suggestion. The output file looks as I'd expect B1...B73 pass, the others fail.
It is being added to Metadata which is where the code that builds the hierarchy is so this seems fine. Can't seem to work out why it's not picking up these numbers.
Thank you again.

Re: Process Variable Formula Code not working
Hi - Thank you. I have attached a sample of the data file. Essentially I want head office for B1 - B73 to read as they are. When I initially forgot to use 'vHeadOffice' in the if statement and was instead using 'vHO' (in the first code snipped I pasted) it skipped the test as you would expect and ap...

Re: Process Variable Formula Code not working
oops I think I actually need vHeadOffice as the variable where the length is checked. Correction below, but this still does not work. vHO = SUBST( vHeadOffice, 1, 1 ); If ( vHO @= 'B' & (LONG(vHeadOffice) = 3 % LONG(vHeadOffice) = 2 )); vHeadOffice_ICEref= vHeadOffice; else; vHeadOffice_ICEref= ...

Process Variable Formula Code not working
Hi: I am trying to put together a piece of code in the Process Variable Formula box that evaluates a variable. There are a set of variables that are being pulled in from a csv file 'B1' to 'B73' that I want to be added just as they are. The other variables, if one was for example 'OtherVariable' I w...

Re: Alternatives to Cognos Insight Distributed for Offline Working
Also I should say we would ideally like them to be able to do their analysis this way as well so there would be that limitation with PDFs.

Re: Alternatives to Cognos Insight Distributed for Offline Working
Thanks - this makes sense. I think we got to the point of trying to use Cognos Insight Distributed and now everyone just wants to see it work. It does to some extent however is not as reliable as we would like (this we had in mind to roll out as the primary tool that these particular users interface...

Alternatives to Cognos Insight Distributed for Offline Working
Hello: I need to meet a requirement where several end users need to be able to access TM1 data while off-line. Aside from using Cognos Insight Distributed, does anyone here have off-line users and how do you achieve this? If you are using Distributed how have you found it? We have tried but the tool...

Re: Can you add attributes to C level elements?
HI Thanks for your replies. Trying ASCII output proved it was adding the correct variable to the right element, thank you for this suggestion. This code above however, was initially in the 'Data' tab. Moving it to 'metadata' has solved the issue and now the attributes have been added. Can anyone ple...

Re: Can you add attributes to C level elements?
Yes. I am able to type in attributes manually for these, however the TI does work for the N Level in the code above - the first one 'vAgencyNumber' but not the others.

Re: Can you add attributes to C level elements?
Hello:
Neither are aliases, it is trying to assign the same text value to everything in the elements' hierarchy.
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Can you add attributes to C level elements?
Hi - we are not doing it manually but via TI.
It adds it for 'Agency Number' which is N-level but not for the others - 'Head Office', 'Division', etc., which are consolidated elements.
Above is the code in the 'Data' section of the TI.
