Re: TM1 Admin Right Restriction
Thanks for your reply, and definitely it confirms my initial concern that only a separate TM1 instance could resolve this request. Hi sloeni72, I now find myself in exactly the same situation, need to prevent access to confidential data from other Admin users and my considerations came to the same ...

Re: TM1+CAM Security: see what any user would see
Sorry I just couldn't pass this by without saying that on PA you'd be able to use 'impersonate user' param in REST API and see exactly what that use would see :) https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_rest_api.2.0.0.doc/dg_tm1_odata_auth.html IntegratedSe...

Re: TM1+CAM Security: see what any user would see
You just have to use the real CAMID and not the alias and you need to assign a local password (I assign a common local password to all users via a rule). I think this is the part where I failed in my experiment, because I did not use the real CAMID (so the cryptic thing "CAMID(Cognos\...)"...

TM1+CAM Security: see what any user would see
Dear TM1 experts, let me first explain the situation: running TM1 10.2.2 with CAM Security (please no comments on outdated version, this is not the topic here), with a lots of CAM users mainly in CAM groups (and some TM1 internal groups, we are running SecurityMode=5). Now whenever there is a suppor...

Re: MDX Help needed: rollup recursively from element to root level?
Thanks, that did exactly what I need. I never used Ascendants command, and obviously thinking how to solve that in a nested way drove me in the wrong direction.

MDX Help needed: rollup recursively from element to root level?
Hi there, I was wondering if there is some smart way to achieve kind of a"reversed" TMDRILLDOWNMEMBER (..., ALL, RECURSIVE) for a given dimension element. The idea is to let the user drill through a hierarchy via Hyperlinks, and on each click, the active form will use the clicked element a...

Re: app_maintenance.bat with CAM Security fails
Hi all, I did solved in a different way, by using -CAMNamespace {authentication domain}. You also need to be on the app_maintenance.bat folder when you run it. Dear tiagoblauth, Would you mind to post some command line examples? This would be extremely helpful for all others being confronted with t...

Re: Cognos Insight not launching from TM1 Application
Do you perhaps know how a installation of Insight is detected by the TM1 Application framework? There must be some component causing the wrong assumption that Insight is not available on the computer, and thus it is provided for installation again instead of just launching the tool. At least for th...

Cognos Insight not launching from TM1 Application
Dear TM1 experts, may be one of you already got stuck in the following situation and found a way to solve that. In this scenario, we use TM1 10.2.0 FP2 and Internet Explorer 10. We intend to use Cognos Insight (Connected mode) as frontend for a TM1 Application (instead of or as alternative to the TM...

Re: app_maintenance.bat with CAM Security fails
Dear Yuri, I did not find the time yet to review your blog post so far, but now I did. The workaround is quite pragmatic, yet kind of brilliant - while IBM insists of its "as designed" argument. As soon as I find the time I will try to apply this workaround for our solutions as well becaus...

Re: TM1 9.5.2 vs. 10.2 rule behaviour for string values
Have you tried putting the S rules before the N rules? I've just tried that (by intuition) and found out that in this case, the strings are carried forward properly. I just wanted to update this post, however you already put the correct hint here :-) So may be I can at least proceed this way. But I...

TM1 9.5.2 vs. 10.2 rule behaviour for string values
Dear members, I'm wondering if handling of string values in rules is not working properly in 9.5.2 (FP3) while it works as expected in 10.2 (FP1+IF1). I was confronted with the problem in 9.5.2 and then figured out that the same rule is working perfectly in 10.2 by copying the relevant objects to a ...

Re: app_maintenance.bat with CAM Security fails
I think I found the reason for the error message. So if ever someone runs into that, you may have a look at your Authentication modes of your cgi-bin application in IIS. We're using Cognos BI attached to an Active Directory and configured Single Sign On (using the "IdentityMapping" paramet...

app_maintenance.bat with CAM Security fails
Dear Forum members, has any of you already used the app_maintenance.bat tool to perform maintenance tasks for a TM1 Applications app? I would like to import a rights file, but I don't even get that far due to the following error message: com.ibm.cognos.fpmsvc.exception.FPMSVCException: INVALID_IDENT...

Re: Chore "Done" but fails to actually finish
Thanks for your suggestions and recommendations and sorry for my late feedback. I've checked your suggestions, but unfortunately none of them apply (no bulk load mode, securityrefresh only at end of process and CellPutS otherwise). As workaround, we've now implemented a nightly TM1 server restart, f...

Re: TM1 10.2 Web Windows authentication
Is SecurityMode 5 (CAM authentication) not an option for you? You can make Cognos BI authenticate against your LDAP (e.g. a Windows AD server) and then use TM1 to authenticate against Cognos BI's CAM. If you do not have Cognos BI anyway, then you might be interested that there is a "Cognos BI R...

Circular Cube Dependency
Hi there, When analyzing a TM1 model which some consultants left behind at our company, I accidentially found out that there is a circular cube dependency, i.e. cube A depends on cube B and vice versa. Now I'm curious what this means in terms of locking, caching, or other side effects. We have 9.5.2...

Re: How to really filter out elements in a hierarchical subs
Thank you for so much feedback and suggestions :-) Unfortunately, element security is not an option as the same elements are required in another context for the same user. The moment you expand or collapse an element within a subset, you have stopped looking at the subset Thanks declanr, this explan...
